Re: [libreoffice-users] No indent in footnotes

Has your document been generated with LibreOffice, or is it some import (say, from MS)? Click into one of your properly behaving footnotes and hit F11: which paragraph style is highlighted? How do you want your footnotes to look like? Where do you want your indent? indent before the footnote-number? indent after the footnote-number? should it indent multiple lines or just the first line (like a tab)? -- Cheers, Annette LibreOffice 5.1.0.3 (x64) on Windows 7 Service Pack 1 64bit -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted

I guess I played around (via menu "View"/toolbars/customise/Menus/Menu "View" -> [Add]) and added it out of curiosity :) In the same way (playing around) I found the feature of customising colours, like fields etc (as I mentioned above). An other very helpful feature btw. that I use extensively is adding background colours to styles (which I remove of course when the text is ready for print): Navigator (F5)/ right-click style in question: modify / Area). Ok, my text looks motley, but in this way I find quickly which styles haven't been applied properly (by me *blush*).

When I uncheck "hide whitespace" in menu "View" (I usually keep it checked), I see that line indeed. You can even choose the colour of the line via menu/Tools/Options/Libre Office/ Application Colours/Text Document: Page and column breaks (may be it should rather read "_Manual_ page and column breaks"?). Does anyone know how to make these visible? I don't know a way to make them visible, but there is a quite helpful extension that I use for such cases: http://extensions.libreoffice.org/extension-center/alternative-dialog-find-replace-for-writer/releases/1.4.1 Good luck!

That is what I would do: uninstall LibreOffice (the whole shebang), download the newest version from the official (!) site, reinstall it and see what happens. Re: [libreoffice-users] Numbering and levels
Hello Raf, what you want to do is probably best done with the help of styles. I am not into headings atm, but I can strongly recommend the nicely written documentation for LibreWriter: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications#LibreOffice_Writer_Guide Chapter 6 and 7 introduce us into the wonder of styles and headings, and the Rafnewsian style (1.,1.1,1.2) is mentioned as well. [libreoffice-users] Writer: How to clear fields off data in template?
Dear libreofficials, first of all thank you for that wonderful program! My question concerns fields for serial printing. Accidently I managed to save an .ott file with a data-record written into the fields. Please don't ask me how :) I still can choose different records via the data source [F4], so no harm is done. Yet on starting the template I would like to see the virgin fields instead of that stubborn record. When I hit [CTRL+F9] the field names are shown, btw. I have tried to overwrite the fields in question with a back-up copy of the culprit .ott-file, but lo! that record pops up again! I feel - haunted! -- Cheers, Annette -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
