Re: [libreoffice-users] Inserting A3 pages in an A4 document
Hi Stephen, perhaps there are other ways, but I would do it as follows: 1. Create a new page style (e.g. named A3) for your big pages 2. At the place where you want to insert the A3 page chose the menu command "Insert->Manual Page break" and in the following dialog select "page break" and choose style A3. 3. behind the A3 page insert another page break back to default page style. Re: [libreoffice-users] captions and headings
Hi Gary, you can use a variable in the figure caption. At first you should create the related variable, e.g. "Figure", from the menu Insert->Field->Other. In the Dialog choose type "Number range" and enter "Figure" as name and "Figure+1" as value. Select format "Arabic" and level 1. For all the following figures you just choose "Figure" under Selection. Re: [libreoffice-users] Impress: how to set the "default" number of slides per page when printing handouts?
Hi Stephan, I don't know about the latest version, but in LO 3.6.7 it should work this way: Open the handout tab and in the task pane select "layout", right-click on the layout with your desired number of slides and apply to all selected (which must have been done defore). It allows a clean layout of long line like here: TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT page TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT page In LO it looks like this: TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT page TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXT TEXTpage From the new feature list I also would expect this should work in LO 3.5, but I cannot get it to work, too. Actually, in the tab pane of the paragraph it is possible to set a tab in the margin area and when entering text, the paragraph mark jumps to that position, but the line break still occurs before that tab at the end of the paragraph. I also tried to use a paragraph with right indent and so set the tab stop in that area before the page margin (As I remember this is the way it worked in MSO). Also here, the tab can be set but without having the desired effect. [libreoffice-users] Installation problem LO 3.5 beta
Hello, for testing of previously reported bugs I tried to install LibO 3.5 beta in parallel to OpenOffice 2.4.3 and LibO 3.3.4. Before this installation attempt I had removed an existing (and working) parallel installation of LibO 3.4. But the new installation always fails with the message: Runtime error! Program ...\unopkg.bin This program has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact ... After pressing OK it shows unopkg.bin has crashed Also when running soffice.exe it always says LOdev3.5 has crashed. Does anyone have an idea how to get it installed? I have already tried to run the installation without Java or anti-virus software, but no change. This was on my "list" to address but have yet to get to it Can you confirm both styles of placeholders work and offer example that worked for you? I hope not to have caused some confusion, because I shouldn't have called "&" a "place holder". Is is a "(back-)reference" to the search result, but [:digit:] is a place holder. Here is a somewhat artificial example using both. The original text: The cat never is blue with gray. This car almost is green like a leaf. A dog still is black same as coal. Search string (There is a blank after "is"): ([:alpha:]*[:space:])([:alpha:]*[:space:])([:alpha:]*[:space:])is ([:alpha:]*) Replace: $1little $4 $2was $3 Text after replace: The little blue cat was never with gray. This little green car was almost like a leaf. A little black dog was still same as coal. I hope it can give some ideas. Hi, even in a mailing list it would be polite to see a kind of salutation and your real name. If you want to do just that replacement you don't need regular expression, just replace /22./ by /022./ If you want to replace any digit try /[:digit:]{2}./ by /0&/ "&" is a placeholder that stands for the search result, as explained in the LO help for regular expressions.
