I use xmodmap for that, e.g.:

/usr/local/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 33 = p P 0x00a7 0x00a7'

provides the paragraph character.

/usr/local/bin/xmodmap -e 'keycode 26 = e E 0x20ac 0x20ac'

yields the EURO currency symbol.

Our old printer had issues with printing certain duplex documents
and after 50K pages was no longer in good shape.

So if someone has experience, saying "don't use xyz", or
"this one works for us", that would be useful.

[libreoffice-users] Which printer for best libreoffice integration ?

2018-03-01 Thread Kurt Jaeger
Hi!

Our printer in the office is ending its life in colorful printouts,
and we need a replacement. Current printer is a Brother MFC-9465CDN.
It printed approx. 50K pages during approx. 5 years. It has
duplex support, but it had its issues.

We print using lpr, mostly postscript.

Therefore I ask the community for feedback:

Which printer works best in a mostly-libreoffice enviroment ?

[libreoffice-users] Stacking order for form controls

2011-12-17 Thread Kurt Fitzner
I'm having a lot of problem in LibreOffice (3.4.4) with the stacking order of
form controls. You can right-click any control and select Arrange-Bring
to Front, which is similar to draw objects. However it doesn't seem to
have any effect. Using cut and paste, you can alter what control is on top
during the design phase, but as soon as design mode is turned off, whichever
control was on the bottom ends up on top.

Secondly, in LibreOffice Base specifically, in a form that is bring run,
you can still click on and select other elements of the form that are
non-controls. Like shapes, callouts, text boxes, etc. You can't edit them,
but you can select them, right-click them, etc. When a form is being run,
shouldn't the non-control elements be completely non interactive?
