The "desktop-integration" directory has been removed in LO-4.1. It was
there from historical reasons:

1. There was different desktop integration for different RPM-based Linux
distributions.
They were not longer needed because Linux distros switched to the
"Freedesktop"
standard, so the freedestop-menus package should work on all RPM-based
distros.

 2. The desktop integration packages for different Lo version conflicted.
This was solved
by versioning the package names, filenames, menu entries. So, you
could install
the desktop integration for LO 4.1 in parallel with the desktop
integration for LO 4.0

We removed the subdirectory to make it easier to install the package.
Unfortunately,
we forgot to update the installation instructions in the README file. It will
be fixed
in the 1st bugfix release, 4.1.1, see
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67061

Well, the is still one problem with files and directories ownership in the .deb
packages.
It might cause problems with the desktop integration. See
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=67388

Petr

The "debian-menus" package has been moved from the
DEB/desktop-integration subdirectory to the top level directory. You
could install it more easily together with the other packages now.

The README file will be updated in the 1st bugfix release 4.1.1, see

It would be great to have Joel in the call because he is one of the most
active people. I know that he would have less time after the school
starts but still...

If we do it later, it would be great to choose another day. Late Friday
is not ideal because many people area leaving for the weekend. At least
I would have big troubles with my wife ;-)

Well, I am not that important, so do not block on me.

Thanks for the bug report. I have added some of our Windows gurues into
CC.

It is strange that it happens only on the one system. I wonder how
common the problem is and how many users are affected. I would put it
into most annoying bugs if we have more people complaining.

AFAIK, this has been the standard behavior since the version 3.3 or 3.4
when we started to register extensions at startup.

Well, the extensions should get pre-registered during the installation.
The cache is just copied during the first application start.

I add Andras into CC. He reworked the Windows installer for LO-3.4.5. It
is possible that he broke the pre-registration, so the cache is not
created and the first start is slower and more visible.

If it does not ring any bell in Andras's head, it would be great to find
the bug.

Stefan did a great job. We are looking for feedback if it works as
expected.

AFAIK, the change is on the way. It is modified on a central place for
bugzilla, testopia, and some other tools.

We are just doing final smoke test of the universal build before we make
it public.

Hmm, the full openSUSE build is available only for openSUSE-11.1 and
SLED11, SLED11-SP1. I still have some troubles on other distros. Sigh, I
forgot to disable publishing before it is complete

Yup, it has been fixed by Kendy.

I do not see this in the universal build => it is openSUSE-specific.
I see that Yi Fan reported it as
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=653519

It seems to be openSUSE-specific as well. Could you please report it at
https://bugzilla.novell.com/ against the product OpenOffice.org?

This is openSUSE specific and reported as
https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=651964

Thanks a lot for testing and feedback. It is great to know about such
bugs early!
