Re: [libreoffice-users] Table of Contents Editing

2011-04-20 Thread Rewarp
To Cor Nous,

after the E3 (chapter number) there is a white field.
You can put one/two spaces there.
You can also put a Tab there (use the button)

It didn't work. It just nudged the alignment of the words from the left *
closer* to the numbers in the Table of Contents (ToC). Plus, as you can see
from the example I gave:

Table 4.4: Comparisons between mean survival of seeds and/or seedlings in
 experimental

plot-lines versus survival of seeds and/or seedlings in the control
 plot-line at day 37. 51

  to

Table 4.4: Comparisons between mean survival of seeds and/or seedlings in

experimental plot-lines versus survival of seeds and/or seedlings in the
 control

  plot-line at day 37.
 51

The Index in question is an Index of Tables (IoT), which only has Entry,
Tab Stop, and Page number.

paragraph style, tab Text flow so that a paragraph stays with the next
 paragraph.

Should work after I modified Content Heading 1. Thanks for the solution.

Thanks for the help and suggestions. But may I suggest to the developers to
tabulate the auto-generated ToC instead. That's essentially what I am doing
now for the ToC and IoT so that I can properly align the texts.

Go to the tab Entries of the Index/Table window,
 there is the line structure

Also not the button All at the right end ...

I thin you will get it.

Re: [libreoffice-users] how to use japanese ore other language fonts

2011-04-20 Thread Rewarp
こんにちは、あきこさん。

You do have a weird problem. I have had no problems inputting Japanese into
OpenOffice (and now LibreOffice). I am also using Lucid Lynx. Does copy and
paste work correctly for Japanese?

Other than that, what input method are you using for Japanese? I tried Anthy
(m17n) and reverted back to Anthy as the former was buggy.

P.S. In fact, my default Asian Language is Chinese (Simplified).

All you want is to get the dictionaries and thesaurus in LibreOffice to
correctly spell-check documents written in Japanese (or as they are being
 written).

Thanks Tom, this exactly what I meant. I'd like that my Operating
System/LibreOffice UI remain in Italian or in English, but I need
dictionaries and a way to write in japanese kanji/kana for my traning in
this language e for write documents for japanese speaker

What i don't understand is why it is not already working! It 'should' be
working just fine! Presumably you have already tried

 Tools - Options - + Language - Languages - Enhanced language support
and ticked the Enabled for Asian languages tick-box? Then that should
 have
allowed you to change the section above
 Tools - Options - + Language - Languages - Default languages for
 documents -
 Asian - Japanese

I've already tried but it seems it doesn't work. I'm wondering if I didn't
install everything what is needed. Maybe something lacks, now I'm searching
 in the extension list.

At least i think that is how it works?? Sorry i don't really know so
 please let
us know how this goes especially if you haven't already tried it.
 Apols and regards from

Subject: [libreoffice-users] how to use japanese ore other language fonts

 Dear all,
I've a problem about writing in japanese language with libreoffice (
 formely
I've had the same problem with openoffice and I' wasn't able to get rid of
 it).
 I'm on Ubuntu 10.4 and Kubuntu 10.4
Usually, when I need to write using japanese scripture I use Ibus with
appropriate setting (only on Gnome). This works fine for the web browser
 and
other applications but it doesn't work with libreoffice.
I've tried to set japanese as default language for the currente document
 but
 it doesn't work.
Maybe I have to install a thesaurus or a vocabulary but I wasn't able to
 find
what install and how make it work.

I don't need to change the whole interface using a language pack, for
 example,
because I'm still learning this language and I'd hardly understand a whole
 japanese LibreOffice interface.
Excuse me if the question don't seem clear, maybe someone of you use
 japanese
 and can help me?

 apologize my errors

 Akiko

[libreoffice-users] Re: Table of Contents Editing

2011-04-19 Thread Rewarp
I found out that if I were to uncheck the box to protect the table of
contents from manual changes, I can select the entire thing, click the table
icon, and everything would pop into a table, where I would be able to better
organize the text by playing with the indents.

But this isn't the best option as everytime I update the table I would have
to repeat the process, albeit it still beats manually logging the changes.

[libreoffice-users] Is There a Better Way to Paste Spreadsheet in Writer Table?

2011-04-18 Thread Rewarp
I need to transfer spreadsheet data into a table, so that I may use the
Table caption in Writer. Consistency is very important as this is a thesis,
so table data can't be captioned as Figure.

The current way method I am employing is to:

   1. select all data cells I wish to copy;
   2. Paste Special in Writer;
   3. Select all data that has been pasted, and click the Table icon;
   4. Select table, in Styles and Formatting, select Table Contents to apply
   style;
   5. Caption.

Does anyone have a better suggestion?

 Hi,
I still haven't understood if OOo extensions work with LibreOffice (though
I suppose they do) anyway maybe this one can help you...

You can then choose the UK dictionary as the default spell-checker. I change
it to UK English as well every time I install an Office Suite. But I
wouldn't go so far as to remove the US English dictionary, as I'll need them
some of the time as well for documents written with that variant of English.

Hope this is what you need.
