[libreoffice-users] Re: Libre Writer - watermarks - shading

2013-12-20 Thread mariosv
Hi all,
I have reported in AOo Spanish forum a way to do it.
https://forum.openoffice.org/es/forum/viewtopic.php?f=17t=8998
Translation.

Well I think there are some relatively simple way to do this.
Inserting objects in the header or footer, they appear on all pages of that
page style.
- While we are in Writer activate the Draw toolbar.
- With the cursor in the header / footer sheet, inserting virtually any Draw
object, for almost all them you can add text.
- Inserting a text object, write the text and format them.
- We can rotate the object as we are interested.
- Place it to background.

It seems that sometimes in order to select directly the object you have to
stretch the head with line breaks until some object is selectable from the
header.

With this we can edit the text of the object and resituate as interested.

I love to waste my time as I please. And as I know this is an open project,
everyone is free to take their choice about this thread as he/she likes, so
I would pleased not being told about what must be my choice.

If a windows user of LibreOffice (like me) wants a 64 bits versions, is
their right asking for.

Gabriel has done a brief and good explanation about the issues to get a
64bit version for Windows. Allowing understand that it is not an easy task.
(2013-11-08 21:35)

On the last months there is in development a deep work in the calc core, to
get a better performance and set up the basics for further improvements.
What I think will bring more benefits on the performance than a 64 bits
version.

So maybe we should have some patience, leaving the steps going on their own
time.

Meanwhile as always, all help is well appreciated, specially to solve the
application bugs, but everyone can find a way to help, a lot of them for
choice. (http://www.libreoffice.org/get-involved/)

[libreoffice-users] Re: Calc - Pasting links relative to a folder

2013-09-13 Thread mariosv
There is an option in:
Menu/Tools/Options/Load Save/Save - Save URLs relative to file system.

In the help.

Save URLs relative to file system
This option allows you to select the default for relative addressing of URLs
in the file system and on the Internet. Relative addressing is only possible
if the source document and the referenced document are both on the same
drive.
A relative address always starts from the directory in which the current
document is located. In contrast, absolute addressing always starts from a
root directory. The following table demonstrates the difference in syntax
between relative and absolute referencing:
Examples
File system
Internet
relative
../images/img.jpg
../images/img.jpg
absolute
file:///c|/work/images/img.jpg
http://myserver.com/work/images/img.jpg

The Help tip always displays an absolute path. However, if a document is
saved in HTML format, LibreOffice will enter a relative path if the
appropriate check box is selected.

[libreoffice-users] Re: Searching numbers between two values

2013-06-15 Thread mariosv
Using COUNT()/COUNTIF()/COUNTIFS() SUM()/SUMIF()/SUMIFS() as array or
SUMPRODUCT() must be the way, but seems it is no possible.

Using INDIRECT() combined with ROW() to generate the address do the trick.

As it is an array formula, Ctrl+Shift+Enter (not only enter) after write the
formula without braces.

For count:
{=SUM(IF(INDIRECT(Num
ROW($A$1:$A$3).$A$1)*(CURRENT()20)*(CURRENT()60)0;1;0))}

For sum:
{=SUM(INDIRECT(Num
ROW($A$1:$A$3).$A$1)*(CURRENT()20)*(CURRENT()60))}

CURRENT() function is very useful in this case because avoids repetition of
INDIRECT() function to do the comparisons.

[libreoffice-users] Re: Libreoffice multiple cores - problem

2013-05-27 Thread mariosv
In windows the only option is select the core(s) for an application, but if
the app is designed for one, only one is used.

To get it is needed load the app from script (.bat) or from a Direct access.

E.g. to use core 1, edit a Direct access properties:

Destination: C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe /C start /affinity 2 soffice.exe
Start in: C:\Program Files (x86)\LibreOffice 4.0\program\

In this way I set up LibreOffice in 1, Firefox in 2, Thuntherbird in 3,
to avoid the core 0, what is the most commonly used by the apps.

[libreoffice-users] Re: ”Artifacts” in OpenOffice and LibreOffice

2013-05-12 Thread mariosv
Hi JOhnny,

if you have not done yet, you can do a try with the options in:

Menu/Tools/Options/LibreOffice/View - Graphics output.

specially with Anti-Aliasing, I remember sometimes have had visible effects
on the screen.

[libreoffice-users] Re: Base data-loss and other problems

2013-05-10 Thread mariosv
Hi Tom,

in fact, if I am right, the decision on change the database backend to
Firebird, has been taken, look in:

https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Development/GSoC/Ideas#Support_for_Firebird_Database_in_Base
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=51780

In the first link is clearly explained what are the reasons for change
causes severe performance problems primarily around the frequency of Java
to C++ transitions, so I think it is no too much to say.

Regards
Miguel Ángel.
