[libreoffice-users] Capitalise every word

2015-10-14 Thread Malcolm Moore
A student has just asked for help and I am stumped.
As she types Writer automatically capitalises every word.
How did she do that?

A likely culprit is a specific paragraph style (default key F11 to see
styles).
Check the "Font Effects" tab. The "Effects" entry there allow you to change
the text to Capitals, Lowercase, etc.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Capitalise every word

2015-10-14 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
Chapter 3 of the "Getting Started Guide", the chapter about "Styles and
Templates". In MS Office their equivalent can often cause problems but in
LibreOffice the system is different and makes it MUCH easier to produce
much higher quality documents with much less effort.
https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications

Hopefully Cley's answer was enough but the link there gives you
documentation that might help understand it a bit better and get more
advantage from using Styles. In MS Office it never quite seemed able to
remember that i always wqant "English (Uk)" and kept switching me to
"English (US)" without warning. LibreOffice is better at remembering your
preferences. Still don't get too carried away setting up the whole thing
all at once. Just test with one or 2 style changes and see how that
ripples/cascades through the other styles and the changes it may make to
your document in order to help the entire document be consistent with
itself.
Regards from
Tom :)
