Re: [libreoffice-users] Fatal error when exporting a dialogue.

2014-10-20 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
I don't know what is going on there. It might be worth asking on the devs
irc channel. Thinking side-ways it might be worth asking on the
international translators mailing list
l...@libreoffice.org
as they often seem to know contet for the different strings they have to
translate. It might be easier to understand their answers where the devs
answers might need a bit of translating into normal English. ;)

Tom :)

 My question is:
What does this error message mean?
Can I do anything about it? Like editing my dialogue somehow before trying
to export it? Seems like some parameter somewhere is missing for some
 reason.

An earlier version of the dialogue can be exported and imported without any
problems. The difference between the new and the old dialogue is that I
added a label and a number field to the new one. I did that by copying and
editing existing ones. Maybe something was lost during that process.

Any hints will be appreciated. I guess I could just start all over again
and create a new one, but I want to know (if possible) what's wrong with
 the one I already have.

This has been reported by others; see, for example:
https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=83913
https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=83886
https://www.libreoffice.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=83277

One suggestion is that the problem occurs with processors which do
not support SSE2 instructions. Wikipedia tells me these were
introduced in the Pentium 4 in 2001. Is your hardware too old?

I trust this helps.

Ah, right, if it is the SSE2 problem as Brian points out (I hadn't been
aware that that problem would first manifests with such an error

This problem is really unfortunate. I experienced this issue and was able
to follow the procedures that I had found previously to install the
software on my Win 64bit machine. However users of this software should
never see this issue. It needs to be fixed quickly. I cannot recommend
installing this version until the software installs smoothly and easily on
Windows.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Fatal Error on DOCX file

2011-01-21 Thread Tom Davies
Again these worked fine in OpenOffice 3.2 on Ubuntu 10.04

The logo was a bit blocky as gifs sometimes get at too low resolution for the
image size. When i tred to save it OpenOffice defaulted to some strange hidden
user gallery folder inside the OpenOffice config folder instead of in my
Pictures or Downloads folder.

Saving in obscure locations is one of the many reasons i left Windows as linux
generally is a lot more sensible and easier to back-up.
