Hi :) This guide probably isn't hugely useful but it might be worth a glance through http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Installing_in_parallel I think that trying to get rid of OpenOffice is not quite as straight-forwards as it should be. It is probably a lot easier on Windows but on GnuLinux i have 'had' to use the package-manager to hunt down all the extra add-ons and bitsbobs to uninstall. I think on Windows all those types of things tend to be all together regardless of whether you want each bit or not. I'm not certain but if you have a package manager it's worth having a look at what it can find.
