  Ich habe nun folgendes versucht:

direkt

http://www.file-upload.net/download-7073986/IMPRESS_CANT_OPEN_THIS_PPT.zip.html

 Regina

[libreoffice-users] Problem with IMPRESS - LibreOffice

hi everybody,

to make it easier for me, i only write in small letters, sorry for
that.

i have a cd with content which is interactive. this cd is
concerning a special event and includes several files, for example
*.pdf, *.doc and also *.ppt.

the cd works with a flash-based overview (like a menu), where u can go
to the categories on the cd.

in this flash-based surface u can klick on something (like a
hyperlink) and then it opens a file on the cd.

all the *.doc files can be opened by WRITER without any problems, also
*.pdf opens correct with ADOBE.

but there a two *.ppt files on the cd. IMPRESS can handle the second
*.ppt file, BUT NOT THE FIRST ONE.

if you click on the link to the first *.ppt in the flash surface,
LIBREOFFICE starts, and immediatly a window opens called ASCII FILTER
 OPTIONEN.

clicking OK with the settings given, LIBREOFFICE starts, it loads the
document (saying Dokument wird importiert) and then, the program
freezes.

after maybe 2 minutes the freeze is over, the *.ppt file is opened
with 38721 (!) sites and shows only unrecognizable signs.

the are a lot of possibilities to change something in the ASCII
FILTER OPTIONEN window, i tried several settings but no one works.

when browsing the file directly in the folders of the cd without the
flash surface, the same thing as already described, happens.

i tried it on my (very) old DESKTOP COMPUTER with MICROSOFT OFFICE
POWERPOINT 2003, the file opens in a normal way. no problems.

file size of the *.ppt is 9,36 MB by the way. it contains some
pictures.

i put a screenshot in the e-mail with the ASCII FILTER OPTIONEN
window.

can anyone help me to solve this problem?

thanks in advance.

A shot in the dark, it might be a font problem.

I am guessing, but a friend of mine writes Arabic fonts for Middle East
Banks Finance Houses and not all of them the use arabic numbers (as
strange as that may seem).

To check this out, run charmap on your font, if the font has arabic
numbers (123...) that maybe the problem

Ok. I manually imported an image. I then stretched it to take up the full
size of the slide. I then sent to back. I saved it and re-opened it and it
 appears now.

However, in my mind, we shouldn't have to do it that way. It's a pain and
not very intuitive. We should be able to just change the background on a
 slide by slide basis.

Sure, I agree with you

You should not change the page of a slide, but create a master page for

Give each master page a name.

Apply the master page immediately to a slide.

I changed the background on those two slides and told it not to apply it to

Even though I saved it, when I opened my presentation later it did not save

work. But importing the images and then send them to back did. So,

 Hi Troy

I had a similar problem using master pages

Ismael Fanlo from spanish community found the solution[1]. Where you
need a different background pictures must be inserted and then,
 arrange send to back.

 hope that helps, regards

Re: [libreoffice-users] Problem with Impress.

2011-04-01 Thread Daniel A. Rodriguez
So are you saying not to replace the background on those slides but instead
import the image as a picture and then send it to back?

as I said on previous message my problem was related to master pages,
in that case setting a different background on each master page didn't
work. But importing the images and then send them to back did. So,
give it a try and tell us.
