Andreas, Thanks a lot, the install did the trick. One short follow-up: The name of the executable seems to have changed: desktop:~/Documents$ lowriter The program 'lowriter' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing: sudo apt-get install libreoffice-writer What's it called now or how can I start lowriter from the terminal right now? Hi :) Weird! Same here. I tried libreoffice3.4 errr, basically typed in libre but instead of pressing enter pressed the tab key instead to help it give me an auto-complete selection. You are probably on libreoffice3.5 Btw a little late but here is a guide on the User Profiles https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/UserProfile Regards from Tom :) --- On Thu, 28/6/12, Frank Wolff wolff@gmail.com wrote: From: Frank Wolff wolff@gmail.com Subject: Re: [libreoffice-users] Re: Dual Screen and Libre Office crash To: users@global.libreoffice.org Date: Thursday, 28 June, 2012, 9:04 Andreas, Thanks a lot, the install did the trick. Best, Frank You extracted a folder hierarchy from the downloaded archive. Go to subdirectory DEBS and run sudo dpkg -i *.deb For desktop integration change to the subdirectory desktop (or similar) sudo dpkg -i *.deb LibreOffice does not have a file called lowriter. It uses swriter. This is found in the installed folder for libreoffice in the program folder: If you installed libreoffice using the download from the LO web site the location is here: /opt/libreoffice3.5/program/swriter Note: I did not notice what version of libreoffice you have installed. I give you the location for LO 3.5.x. Replace the 3.5 with a 3.4 if it is LO 3.4.x. If libreoffice was installed by your operating system, the location for swriter is: /etc/libreoffice3.5/program/swriter Entering the path for the file on the command line will open Writer. --Dan -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
