Actually it's quite simple and fast (although completely different from MS
Word): just press F5 (or click on View, Navigator)
In the Navigator window (actually it is a fantastic tool anchored to one of
the sides ;) ) just type the number of the page in the box at the top (or
click quickly the Up and Down buttons to jump to the number desired)

Thanks very much for this info. I have downloaded the items I think will be
most useful at the moment and will be doing some reading over the next few days.

Hi :)
The best guides are here
http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Documentation/Publications
and here
http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/documentation/
Both sets are the same.  Sometimes, just after publication, the wiki gets
the updates first but it is months between updates so either page usually
has the same.

The Help files are not great.  There has been some confusion about who was
updating those and apparently everyone thought it was someone else's job!
lol.  The tiny documentation team will be working on them once they have
cleared up current projects or perhaps new people might join the team to
help with updating them.

Regards from
Tom :)

Fw: [libreoffice-users] page number search

2011-11-13 Thread Tom Davies
Hi :)
Sorry for NoOps rudeness.  Apparently he thinks slightly obscure netiquette is
important while etiquette isn't important for him at all.  Maybe it's just
hyprocritical.  Maybe it makes him feel important to be able to admonish new
users rather than welcome them in and actually answer the question.

Anyway, i have broken this into a new thread but also haven't answered the
question.  So, many apologies for the spam.
Regards from
Tom :)

I have been unable to find a method of doing a search for a page when using
Writer. I also have Works and it was possible to do that. Anyone know if I'm
missing something or is it just not possible. TIA
