For that -specific- task, 'a page,' and '200, 404, etc...,' that's not
'Software' as such, with a capital S. That's about a 20-30 line shell
script, that runs via cron. It requests a page, and records and increments
HTTP responses to a plain text file, which you can cat whenever you want

[users@httpd] Only garbage was found in the patch input - httpd-2.4.7-sslsninotreq.patch

2013-12-11 Thread Abdul Anshad

Hello All,

I can't apply a patch named *httpd-2.4.7-sslsninotreq**.patch*, when i
try to build the package httpd-2.4.7 it throws out the error as "Only
garbage was found in the patch input".

The whole content of the patch is just two lines as follows :

diff --git a/modules/ssl/ssl_engine_config.c
b/modules/ssl/ssl_engine_config.c

index 15993f1..53ed6f1 100644

I download the source rpm httpd-2.4.7 from
http://koji.fedoraproject.org.

Is this because of the fault commit from the user ? or is there anything
i should install on my side like git before building the package ?

Is there any alternate source to this patch
*httpd-2.4.7-sslsninotreq**.patch ?

*Thanks in advance.

Setting it up is a big deal, but it can do what you want (and a lot more).

Nagios Core is free and fully open source. (Nagios XI is not)

Perhaps you can try Google Webmaster Tools. It is still free and it

Availability yes but not statistics AFAIK. There is something called

 "DNS Propagation Check"

Just enter your address or IP address and it will tell you what is the
situation of your site in major World Cities.

Try it and let us know.

Easy fix, my “cookie” wasn’t in the proper format.

“cookiename=value” works.

It as sending them, but the browser (Safari) wasn’t sending them back.
(Firefox actually did send it back though, even without the proper format)

Thanks.

It is not served with a third party code. MPM worker works fine. Is this
issue config related or an unexpected behavior?

This type of failure during graceful restart is unexpected unless you
are using some third party code.

[users@httpd] apachectl -k graceful abort downloads (Apache 2.4.7)

2013-12-11 Thread Sven Baumgartner

Hi,

I'm discovering an issue when gracefully restarting apache (apachectl -k
graceful) that running downloads are aborted. In various web-browsers it
looks like the download has finished successful but after checking the
size it is clear that it didn't. Many times the download continuous
until approx. 62MB and stops than if the graceful restart was before
62MB after that value the download abort immediately. I tested with
100MB and 200MB files.

How could I prevent apache from aborting the running downloads?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Re: [users@httpd] mod_rewrite config (UNCLASSIFIED)

2013-12-11 Thread Nick Tkach
I'd suggest enabling RewriteLog and setting a RewriteLogLevel to something
like debug. So something like

RewriteLog /var/log/apache/rewrite.log
RewriteLogLevel debug

Be careful though! If this site is live and gets a lot of traffic a debug
rewrite log is going to grow fast! That should at least give you a clear
picture of what's actually happening. Usually I've found that the rules
just aren't working the way I thought they were.

Hi,

I'd like to redirect all traffic going to https://www.mywebsite.com to
https://store.mywebsite.com instead.

But I want traffic going to http://www.mywebsite.com to be left alone.

I tried with the following config:

RewriteEngine On

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^www.mywebsite.com$ [NC] RewriteCond %{HTTPS} =on
RewriteRule ^/?(.*) https://store.mywebsite.com/$1 [R,L]

But it does not work.

Traffic going to https://www.mywebsite.com is not rewritten to
https://store.mywebsite.com.

What am I doing wrong ?

Thanx !

If you haven't done so already, use a custom LogFormat to log the outgoing
Set-Cookie and the incoming Cookie Headers, and/or use your favourite web
developer tools to check if the header is set (and sent back). You could also
either run httpd -X from within gdb or attach gdb to a running process and set
a breakpoint at your apr_table_… lines. You should then be able to inspect r.
You might find the .gdbinit that comes with the apache source code helpful.

[users@httpd] cookie read/write in module handler

2013-12-11 Thread Allasso Travesser
Hello,

I am attempting to write a cookie, then retrieve it later. I am doing this in
a handler, using simple code found from (sparse) information I have gathered
from google searches:

  apr_table_set(r->headers_out, "Set-Cookie", "value");
  char* cookie = apr_table_get(r->headers_in, "Set-Cookie");

  ap_log_error(APLOG_MARK, APLOG_NOTICE, 0, NULL, “cookie : %s", cookie);

I would expect that after the having a particular browser access the site
twice, the second time the cookie should show up, but such is not that case,
instead, no matter how many times I access, value read into “cookie” variable
is always “NULL”.

Am I being naive about how to implement this? Or does this method not work in
a handler?

Thank you kindly,

Allasso

If you can run in translate_name, just do what mod_alias does.
If you have to run as a handler, maybe look at how mod_rewrite does
its internal redirect.

[users@httpd] Apache fcgid suexec not deleting POSTed /tmp files

2013-12-11 Thread Fester Zigterman Rustenburg

Hi,

Recently my /tmp dir has been filled with tmp uploaded files which
are never cleaned up.
I am using debian 6, apache2-2.2.16 with mod_fcgid and php5, using
Virtualmin.

A file is received with HTTP POST and stored in /tmp/fcgid.tmp.*,
with perm 0600, owner www-data . This means that apache (running
under user www-data) is receiving the file, after which the file is
moved to ~[site-user]/tmp, and processed further with
suexec/fcgid/php5 (under user [site-user]).

I suspect that the /tmp file the process fcgid process running under
[site-user] tries to delete the upload, but fails because /tmp has a
sticky bit and may not delete it. Maybe the action fails because
/tmp and ~[site-user]/tmp are on different partitions so it needs to
copy/delete instead of renaming?

My question: Which process (httpd/fcgid/suexec/php5) is responsible
for deleting the tmp file, and how might I fix this problem?
