Re: How to use MMS?

None of the Openwave devices support OTA configuration.

Would be interesting to discover if Mitsubishi devices support it.

Oh, the latest Motorola devices, such as the T720(i) have a new WAP browser by
Motorola. As far as I know, it doesn't support OTA configuration.

Andrea

Siemens dont supported OTA (in my opinion).

Hi,

At http://brickwed.de/wap/prov/ you will find
some sample Provisioning Content for the S55
and Vodafone germany.

The S55 supports receiving Content-Types
text/vnd.wap.connectivity-xml and
application/vnd.wap.connectivity-wbxml
via WAP Push.
I only tested Push via SMS, i don't know if Push via
GPRS/IP is supported (SI/SL is supported).

So you take a binary Provisioning Document and add
WSP Header for Push. Then you make some SMS-PDUs
with appropriate UDH (containing SAR and Ports) from it.
The sample .sms files contain these SMS PDUs.

When receiving a Prov.-Push the phone shows an @
on the left softkey. When pressing you will see a dialog
showing some settings (to be sure that you don't set
a premium-rate number for dial-in) letting you choose
the destination profiles for wap-settings and dial-in.

The SW in the phone is Siemens proprietary, not related
to Openwave. I can't tell if it is officially supported
by Siemens, but my testing with a release model (SW 4)
of the S55 works OK.
The simulator from Siemens (SMTK) also supports
receiving SMS via dialog-box. You can use it to test
provisioning locally.

If anyone has a question feel free to ask me.

I wouldn't want to be misunderstood... Siemens devices with the Openwave browser
5.0.x DO support Push messages, but not OTA configuration messages. That's what
I meant.
