yes we can. But you will have to provide more information which part
of Kannel should be SSL-enabled.

Kannel supports 3 SSL-enabling mechansms:

 * HTTP client side communication to a SSL-enabled HTTP server: for
sms-service groups and https:// scheme links in WML decks.

 * HTTP server side communication to a SSL-capable HTTP client
(browser): for admin port of Kannel and sendsms HTTP interface.

 * SSL-enbaled inter-box communication: between bearerbox and
[smsbox|wapbox], for securing remote box connections.

Stipe

RE: SSL

2001-09-11 Thread Gildas PERROT

I
tried to compile it on Redhat 6.2 with openssl 0.9.6b without success
:

#
./configure --enable-ssl
Attempting to compile with SSL support.checking for SSL_library_init
in -lssl... (cached) no

However, everything is in the right place ie :

*.h in
/usr/local/ssl/include/openssl
libssl.a and libcrypto.a in /usr/local/ssl/lib

Any
idea about that problem
?
Gildas.

I have done that but then ./configure is
not being able to find the SSL libraries. (In particular the
SSL_Library-init() function). I have openssl installed in my machine in
/usr/local/ssl folder. Where should i copy the SSL libraries so that
./configure can find it?
thanks again,
JS

Just compile it without giving the
--enable-ssl option, and check if ./configure says that will use
  ssl.
If it don't, check if you have openssl in
  the right place

Has anybody tried configuring Kannel
1.1.5 with --enable-ssl option? Am trying it and it always gives
"Disabling ssl support". It attempts to compile with ssl support as
a default option, but then its not being able to find the libraries,
it seems? where should i install the openssl libraries for
it?
thanks in advance,
JS
