RE: Problems with Sending / Cannot empty Queue.
For that many messages a day, an sms gateway (via smpp or other) is a lot more reliable than a gsm modem. Also, if you shop around for a bit, it might be cheaper as well. == Rene -Original Message- From: users-boun...@kannel.org [mailto:users-boun...@kannel.org] On Behalf Of Jorge Asch Sent: Saturday, 17 December, 2011 16:58 To: users@kannel.org Subject: Problems with Sending / Cannot empty Queue. I've been using Kannel for years with my WaveCom Fastrack Supreme 20 without any problems. Used mainly for personal proyects, etc, load was very low (a couple of messages a day), and it worked great. Two days ago I decided to send some messages for a customer (9,000+), and everything broke. The device was able to send a couple of messages, and then started choking with entries in the log like: 2011-12-14 09:52:21 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: --> AT+CMGS=145^M 2011-12-14 09:52:21 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: <-- > 2011-12-14 09:52:21 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: send command status: 1 2011-12-14 09:52:21 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: --> 003100088198024397A797C377BB2C1FA7C36C10B90C9A96CF75F97B0E9A97417479D83D 37BFE5ED30885C06D5DD6150F05C768FD361D0F0DD2ECBC7E9303BAD0F93DFF230280CAABBC3 A0E15B2E2F93DFF230885C064DCBE7BAFC3D77819AE13928ED36BFE5EDF038FD7683CA6ED0FD 7E778DDFEDB27C5E3ED7E5EFB96BFC6EBFC6EF76DD9D1E87C9EFB92B3C87E301 2011-12-14 09:52:21 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: --> ^Z 2011-12-14 09:52:24 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: <-- > 2011-12-14 09:52:24 [2616] [6] DEBUG: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: <-- ERROR 2011-12-14 09:52:24 [2616] [6] ERROR: AT2[/dev/ttyS0]: Generic error: ERROR I've been reading for the last couple of days, about having to force INIT strings, or keep-alive strings, etc. But I've been unsucessful with any attempts I've made. AT+CMGS=”+35386827XXXX” not working with Siemens Pool
Hello, Trying to send an SMS from one of the modems in my modem pool using Siemens MC56. After doing this AT Command AT+CMGS=”+35386827” I get +CMGS: # telling me the message went out but it never arrives. If I put the SIM in my phone I cans send SMS. Inside the modem I can call all kinds of AT Commands but am not able to send SMS. Would really appreciate some help with this. Re: Problems with Sending / Cannot empty Queue.
You're not specifying the store location, I'd start by checking the user guide about how to set the store location (the "spool" is the preferred mechanism). Once you have that in place, emptying the store is a matter of stopping kannel and removing the files inside your spool folder. Re: Help: Big messages from MT to MO
Ask your SMSC operator about the throughput of your SMS shortcode. Should be greater than 1 SMS/sec. Also to confirm from them if they are supressing long messages (ideally, they should not!).
