Re: Unable to send '@' via kannel
My SMPP Company replied me this and also suggested me to use GSM7 and GSM8 Charset. Please note that the SMSC of different mobile network has different mappings for characters not in the range of [a-zA-z0-9]. In particular, the GSM7character set for example maps an '@' character to a 0x00 (zero byte). Some operators set their SMSC to use Latin-1 or ASCII instead of the GSM7 character set. You can see if that is the case by sending a 0x00 (zero-byte) character to the SMSC. If an '@' appears on your phone then they are NOT using GSM7. Most likely they are using ASCII as their character set and accordingly you will need to modify the character set listing in Kannel's source code. Please check the GSM character set at your end. Hi, does higher spool memory in kannel low down the speed
Hi, I would like you to see this scenario. 1. With One SMSC Server I have Multiple PORT connectivity as diff. SMSC IDs 2. Every Port has 2 session allowed . I am using 1 as TX and other as RX. 3. In the beginning of PUSH kannel Accept by better speed of 14 TPS each. But later On this value start decreasing and more MT SMSs start get stored in SPOOL. What can be possible reason for it. * Does bigger spool Size affect kannel performance. * I wonder, How the same configuration in starting of PUSH give me better result and later on it decreases even till 1 TPS === My SMSC Configuration i am pasting below. group=smsc smsc=smpp smsc-id=xxx #allowed-smsc-id = xxx host = xxx port = xxx transceiver-mode = 0 #receive-port = xx log-file = "/projects/kannel/logs/live/xxx_TX.log" log-level = 1 alt-charset = "ASCII" smsc-username = "xx" smsc-password = "xx" #msg-id-type = 0x01 source-addr-ton = 5 source-addr-npi = 9 dest-addr-ton = 1 dest-addr-npi = 1 enquire-link-interval = 60 system-type = xx reconnect-delay = 60 interface-version = 34 throughput = 25 Regards Anshu Sah

Hello Rene, I am still unable to understand architecture of OpenSMPPBOX. Just wondering if possible like SQLBOX can there be any application for OpenSMPPBOX, Which could show us following point 1. If We could see How many SMS are queued through OpenSMPPBOX. 2. User Access through any SQL Table beside the .txt file. 3. List of their connections with Our Server any like Kannel Shows in its status.xml file. 4. If SQLBOX is connected as SMSBOX to kannel, Can it be possible we could send it by multiple SMSCs Regards Anshu Sah

Re: Message DLR coming as MO
hello sir, The number is a combined set of bit 1 and bit 2 that indicate as follows: bit 1: type for submit_sm_resp, bit 2: type for deliver_sm. If the bit is set then the value is in hex otherwise in decimal number base. Which means the following combinations are possible and valid: * 0x00 deliver_sm decimal, submit_sm_resp decimal; 0x01 deliver_sm decimal, submit_sm_resp hex; 0x02 deliver_sm hex, submit_sm_resp decimal; 0x03 deliver_sm hex, submit_sm_resp hex. * I can see this , but there is no explanation about Octet Message IDs, My SMSC is using SMPP v3.3 & reply octet Message ID for submit_sm_resp and deliver_sm. Please advice. Hello Nikos, I am sending my full investigation below. I am getting 2 errors with Kannel & SMPP v3.3. I think both problems has some link. *1. WARNING: smsbox_list empty! **2. Unable to Translate DLR *This error comes while receiving DLR, While sending SMS It has no problem. I am using 2 SMSC with 2 Session Each, & 2 SMSBOXs. 1 SMSBOX for 2 SMSC of Same Login ID. , I am pushing & Receiving DLR using SqlBox. I confirmed to my SMSC they send "*DECIMAL MessageID*" while acknowledgement & delivery report. I get the acknowledge saved in sent_sms table, But DLR get saved in Kannel store. Re: UNABLE TO RECEIVE DLR FROM KANNEL & SMPP
Hello Nikos, If the DLRs which are coming to MySQL is temporary, Then i can also use DLR storage "Internal", and Make a SMALL application to sense DLRs. i am confused "is there any Key Or any Value by which we can compare that the coming DLR is for any specfic Message Sent." for example : While Sending SMS I get only text "0: Accepted for delivery" But if i get *message ID* here while sending & same *message ID* is returned as value when i get DLR, i can match DLR with Sent message easily in my table. Hope that *message ID is an Unqiue *value. Regards, Anshu 2010/8/26 Nikos Balkanas > Hi, > > For info read UG about reroute-smsc. Once you reroute that, you may also > want to reroute its DLRs. Can kannel be multi threaded for receiving SMS
Hello I am able to receive only 17 Maximum SMS / Minute. Can you guide me how can we increase this speed. I have seen a process going on in receiving SMS. Please guide me if i am doing correct. 1. SIM device is ready to receive SMS 2. SMS comes to Operator SMSC and it initiates GSM modem to receive SMS, IF GSM modem is in FREE state it will start receiving process. it will mark its State BUSY. 3. NOW KANNEL will Call SMS-SERVICE and Call any Web URL or Localhost URL 4. if URL call is finished, it will change its state FREE. I Guess if it doesn't change its state busy, then it will keep receiving SMS from SMSC, All we need to do is to handle that bigger receiving. Plz advice. -- Regards Anshu
