RE: Compatibility

2010-02-28 Thread info.ubichip
Hello,

I got experience with teltonika, siemens, simcom, and wavecom
For the speed, teltonika and wavecom are quite good, siemens looks to be the
more verbose for the error code, simcon, I didn't send enough sms to give a
good feedback.

Regarding the siemens M55i, I would be very interested in some of you could
give me some feedback regarding speed performance?

Regards

I ordered a USB/power of USB GSM modem unit from KLS electronic in China off
alibaba.com and it works really well. I've been using them consistently with
Kannel, and using custom scripts that I wrote using the command line utility
cu and they've been very solid.

Cheers,
Iain

The fact is that I am actually using a siemens s35 which is really perfect to
send sms but hardly manage both receive and send on heavy traffic situation.
After a while, incoming SMS are stored into internal memory instead of
passing to kannel then refuse incoming SMS as memory is full.
I tried siemens s45, sony ericsson t600 but can't find a real stable way
(phone power down, phone freeze, etc.)

So I am thinking about using a dedicated GSM modem instead of a mobile phone
to avoid this problems (the simpler the best).
The 3 models in compatibility list (nokia premicell, siemens m20, wavecom
wm02) appears quite old and hard to find.

My aim is to have a dual band rs232 GSM modem as stable as possible able to
send and receive SMS without discard any of them.

Wavecom appears still very active on the GSM modem business.
Especially do you have any experience with wavecom Fastrack M1206B ?

For those who have system running at 10 SMS/min (send and receive) for months
- please share your experience.

Thanks.

This issue has been fixed a while ago by renaming all list_* functions
in gwlib to gwlist_*. Please use CVS HEAD. It's fairly stable.

Re: compatibility Fasttrack M1206 and M1306

2004-08-12 Thread Pierluigi Campidoglio
Hi.
WM02, M1206, M1306(B) (and so on) are codes that refer to different GSM/GPRS
terminals based upon the Wavecom wismo core. The differences can be: the
firmware release, the external interfaces (if I am not wrong, M1206 has no
external GPIO signals connector while M1306B has one) etc.
Anyhow, they work more or less the same manner. The Wavecom modems are quite
reliable but they have a bug (since the very first releases): when they got
a dlr they (can) enter a bad state, in which they are no more able to
transfer incoming SMS messages to the connected PC.

Pierluigi.

Hey ! I'm using fastTrack M1206 since two years with -almost- no problem.
I think that WM02 == M1206
The modem works with both 1800 and 900Mhz networks.
The only problem i had with those modems is that when they are in a bad
state (don't ask me how),
the only way to restart it cleanly is to unplug and replug power ... not
very scriptable with bash :(

Anyway, they works fine

Hi,
I'm new to Kannel but I'd like to sent SMS messages via a computer.
In the compatibility list I find 3 GSM-modems:
Nokia Premicell, Siemens M20, Wavecom WM02
I wonder which one is the best (in Belgium 900 and 1800 Mhz Network)?
In the product catalog of wavecom I don't find the Wavecom WM02. I
only found the Fasttrack M1206 and Fasttrack M1306. Are these modems
compatible with Kannel?
Are they any good?

Thanks for your time.
Best regards,
Marc.

How much sms?
Personal use only or something bigger?

Clickatell and possibly others provide easy enough connections
though I got an email from clickatell stating they would
only support high volume users soon.

Not sure about the modems. Have only used a couple of handsets
for testing. You would want a modem I think if you wish
to do sms with high reliability/availability.
