It just means that yum was confused about the current state of reality as represented by the repo servers. Clearing the metadata forces it to resynch. Well, he had previously posted about this problem on the *test* list on 3/29 and has gotten several replies and suggestions. Some, like myself, haven't had any problems. Others have offered suggestions about not running the debug version of the kernel. Then there are the usual "flash is your problem" suggestions or asking about memory capacity. I suggested here, and on the test list, that he try using a newly created user to eliminate something in his environment. I've not seen any response to my suggestion. So.the troubleshooting of this issue seems haphazard at best. 1. when i'm telling that my fan runs at 100%, it's to not tell between 90, 95 100 or 80%... let's say it is a lot faster than under windows 7 on the same hardware. so if windows 7 with ASUS software can adjust speed to make it quiet (there are 2 fans - 1 for CPU + 1 for GPU) i guess a wonderful OS like Fedora/linux can do better :D On 05.04.2014 08:18, g wrote: On 04/05/14 11:16, Raf Roger wrote: Hi, i didn't get any answer regarding the FAN control of my CPU/GPU to avoid it to run at 100% all the time, when i'm just watching a movie or reading on internet. where can find some good information about it ? i read something about powersaving tool with thinkfan but i don't know why it doesn't seem to work...and powertools are terminal commands as far as i understood. so have you already solved something like that before ? does it really work ? thx. before you consider controlling cpu / gpu fans, there are 2 things you might wish to consider; 1- _if_ fan speed is variable, it is usually done so by temp sensors that monitor temps and adjust fan speed. 2- if fans are running 100%, they may not be variable. why is it you feel a need to change what is, or maybe already being done for you? /(-: do you believe you are more temp aware than circuits that are designed to monitor temp and adjust fan speed? /:-) -- users mailing list users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Fedora Code of Conduct: http://fedoraproject.org/code-of-conduct Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question? Generally, I've found that you can type keywords into the address bar, and Firefox will start suggesting pages based upon website addresses, page titles, keywords, etc., that it finds from your bookmarks and recent history. Thanks to the last one (it finding things in your history), I tend to not bother bookmarking things I'm only vaguely interested in.
