Okay, as the other poster said, you can change some configuration files to lower the threshold between system user IDs and user IDs. However, as quite some time ago it was decided to move the threshold to 1000 instead of 500, to follow suit with many other distros, you're swimming against the tide. You'll have to handle this reconfiguration with every update, and probably find more things that don't like this as time goes on. If you use IDs below the threshold, you find names don't appear in logon lists, security functions may restrict what you're allowed to do, etc. Unless you need a low ID number to fit in with some other OS that you can't reconfigure, I'd suggest moving up to higher ID numbers, to make life easier for yourself. -- [tim@localhost ~]$ uname -rsvp Linux 3.9.10-100.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Sun Jul 14 01:31:27 UTC 2013 x86_64 All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted, there is no point trying to privately email me, I will only read messages posted to the public lists. At the time of that pull request, Linux had supported Secure Boot for some time already. The pull request added a mechanism for importing new keys. So, it's not particularly relevant to the question of whether or not to use Secure Boot. -- users mailing list users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Fedora Code of Conduct: http://fedoraproject.org/code-of-conduct Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question? alt + above_tab changes work-spaces, how to disable?
Hi all, With Fedora 23 using the "Power Alt+Tab" extension, + <~> and + <~> (~ == 'above_tab'), gnome cycles through the work spaces instead of the other windows in the active application. This wasn't the case in Fedora 22. Does anyone know how to disable the workspace cycling? I tried looking in dconf-editor -> org > gnome > desktop > wm > keybindings without luck. I am not sure how to look into how extensions work, and I realize this might be an issue with the extension instead of gnome itself. If that is the case, any pointer on how to look into extensions would be much appreciated, too. Thanks for any help! Allegedly, on or about 24 December 2015, Chris Murphy sent: > What matters is prevention and what you're proposing is that people > disable being protected against it. And that's bad advice. I tend to view such hazardous advice with more than just suspicion that the person doesn't fully appreciate the situation, I'm concerned that they might be a black hat trying to make it easier for their mates. I think, that as a matter of security, you have to be suspicious of "turn off your firewall/malware-protection/etc.," advice, as coming from someone with ulterior motives, or coming from someone who's been unwittingly conditioned by those with ulterior motives. -- All mail to my mailbox is automatically deleted, there is no point trying to privately email me, I will only read messages posted to the public lists.
