I can't make the 3-finger tap work on my laptop.
When I play with it in GNOME touchpad test settings, I see always
first a very quick "secondary clic", followed immediately by "central
clic".

In Nautilus and Firefox, it's always interpreted as a 2-finger tap.

Perhaps it's a Wayland bug. I should check if it works in Xorg.

I forgot that I was using Xorg.
I switched to Wayland and everything works perfect: one-finger tap for
the primary button, two-finger tap for the secondary button and
three-finger tap for the middle clic.

Please do.

I will try a suspend tomorrow.  I had too much work (trip report so I
can get paid) to do today.

So we will see tomorrow how it suspends.

It's all just as you say.

The problem is that I had thought that the lock screen and the login
screen were managed by the same function in System Settings. They are
not. I had tested changes to the login screen by seeing whether they
appeared in the lock screen, which (of course) they didn't.

Thanks to all for your help.

I've just done this on an F28 fully updated VM.  And my experience was quite
different.

set the theme to Breeze
click on Background
select load from file and pick file
click Apply
enter root pw at prompt
logout
new background is displayed

My guess is that you need to restart sddm. I believe it only looks at
that stuff on startup. Most DMs don't restart upon login or logout, they
keep running.

Can't change sddm login screen

2018-07-25 Thread Jonathan Ryshpan
I believe I have used
   System Settings->Startup and Shutdown->Login Screen (SDDM)
correctly.  I
 * set the theme to Breeze
 * click on Background
 * click on the green image
 * choose a local file
 * click  Apply
The green box is replaced by a thumbnail of my chosen image.

However there is on effect on the login screen and when I start over
at
   System Settings->Startup and Shutdown->Login Screen (SDDM)
the image is gone and the green box has reappeared.

What's (not) happening? Maybe a missing configuration directory?
No easy to find error messages.

Thanks - jon

There is already a bug filed to have it updated:

It's up to the maintainer to do the update. I see that you copied him

Dear All,

according to [1], only an old version of Gajim is available in the
standard repositories for F27 as well as F28.

So I was wondering, why that's the case and also weather there are any
plans to make a more recent version of Gajim available to the users of
Fedora.

Best regards!
