Just out of curiosity, is it only applying localhost.localdomain to
your 127.0.0.1 loopback interface (like it should), or is it trying to
apply it to an ethernet or wifi interface (which it shouldn't)?

Actual interfaces should get a different name than the loopback
interface. Trying to use the same name to multiple interfaces is
liable to upset something.

Perhaps related, my /etc/hosts file just looks like this:

127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost4 localhost4.localdomain4
::1 localhost localhost.localdomain localhost6 localhost6.localdomain6

With only those two lines in it. Network manager is being told what to
do by my DHCP server.

No I didn't change the hostname. I don't know how long netmanager

I will try disabling hostname mode and we'll see what happens.

If you've accident set a hotkey in claws-mail, it'll only apply to that
application. And most likely, only when that application's window is
active.

I've set hotkeys in (another application - OBS studio), and it meant
you could use that key when typing in it. It would have nice to hit
the space bar, for example, to switch between cameras. But doing so
meant you could use the space bar to type a space in its text editors.

You can use gparted to move and resize the partition. If it's a
necessary partition that you can't unmount, you'll need to use a live

You do realize that F32 is past its EOL date and is unsupported now, right?

rpmdb --rebuilddb

2021-06-06 Thread Patrick Dupre
Hello,

After updatding from fedora32 to fedora34, I could not run
dnf update
Then, I tried
rpmdb --rebuilddb
and I get
warning: Converting database from bdb_ro to sqlite backend
error: could not open /var/lib/rpm/Packages: Permission denied
error: cannot open Packages index using bdb_ro - Operation not permitted (1)

What should I do?

Thanks

Where exactly? Inside the message compose window?
In other editable GUI input fields like "To", "Cc", "Subject" lines?

That would render the program unusable, which would be very odd
given that it is used on a daily basis.

Which graphical desktop environment do you use?

palemoon browser stays on screen where is launched.
New window opens on the same screen.

firefox always opens on LVDS-1, even when is launched on VGA-1.
After moving the window to VGA-1, new window again appears on LVDS-1.
No matter if the screen is primary or not.

Any clue?

Troubles with the claws-mail

2021-06-06 Thread Bob Marcan
Fedora 33 up to date (Sun Jun 6 11:47:43 CEST 2021)
claws-mail-3.17.8-1.fc33.x86_64)

In claws-mail keyboard key "k" is ignored.
Same key is working in all other applications.
So it is not a keyboard problem. :-)
Does anybody have an idea where is the problem?

TIA, Bob

remove unallocated partition

2021-06-06 Thread Patrick Dupre
Hello,

On one disk, I have an extended partition (sdc4) starting at 41338880
Inside, I have a ext4 partition (sdc5) starting at 53919744 (see attached file)
In between the space is unallocated

How can I make that the partition sdc4 starts just at the beginning of sdc5

Thanks
