blank screen on gnome-remote-desktop

2020-09-16 Thread Antonio M
My Fedora network is:
a) Pcdesktop
b) laptop

Usually I run wayland, then I can share the laptop to the desktop.
If I try to share the desktop to the laptop after password request i get a
blak screen (but the mouse arrow is visible). If I start a Xorg session I
can share the desktop to the laptop even if it is ugly. any hint???

Re: F29: Thunderbird is in English and not in my language

2018-10-31 Thread Antonio M
not here :-)

I tried to modify bashrc file per user as:
# .bashrc

# Source global definitions
if [ -f /etc/bashrc ]; then
. /etc/bashrc
fi

# Uncomment the following line if you don't like systemctl's
auto-paging feature:
# export SYSTEMD_PAGER=

# User specific aliases and functions
export LANG=it_IT.utf8 ; thunderbird

and I issued the export command also in a terminal but still the
interface is in English.
I will enable tke language pack in Thunderbird

Tnx anyway

can' connect to localhost

2018-06-06 Thread Antonio M
Suddenly I cannot connect to my localhost: a couple of days ago connecting
to Cups admin page by using http://localhost:631 worked as expected,
tonight I get "page not found".

Furthermore
wget 127.0.0.1
--2018-06-06 23:06:41-- http://127.0.0.1/
Connessione a 127.0.0.1:80...non riuscito: Connessione rifiutata.
(refuse connection)

and
ping 127.0.0.1
PING 127.0.0.1 (127.0.0.1) 56(84) bytes of data.
64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.074 ms
64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=2 ttl=64 time=0.084 ms

64 bytes from 127.0.0.1: icmp_seq=4 ttl=64 time=0.071 ms

Pyorbital cannot be installed via dnf (I didn't find any rpm in the repos).
But this doesn't solve the issue of having pyorbital listed in

Re: Python help

2018-01-23 Thread Antonio M
installing the zeromq-devel package didn't solve the problem, but dnf
reinstall zeromq* seems to have solved it.

Now I have two questions:

1)/usr/lib64/python3.6/site-packages/matplotlib/cbook.py:136:
MatplotlibDeprecationWarning: The matplotlib.delaunay module was deprecated
in version 1.4. Use matplotlib.tri.Triangulation instead.
warnings.warn(message, mplDeprecation, stacklevel=1) what does it mean

Re: Arduino and Serial.print

2018-01-20 Thread Antonio M
sorry for the noise: I made a mistake because the file to edit is
/usr/share/arduino/hardware/arduino/avr/platform.txt. I inserted

-fno-devirtualize as option in this line:
compiler.cpp.flags=-c -g -Os {compiler.warning_flags} -std=gnu++11
-fpermissive -fno-exceptions -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections
-fno-threadsafe-statics -MMD -flto -fno-devirtualize

and now it works as expected. Tnx for help (and patience)

I upgraded two systems from F26 to F27 (a pretty standard setup with
RpmFusion addditional repos) this afternoon and everything went really
smooth. Tnx to who worked on it

Re: wireless mouse dies

2017-10-05 Thread Antonio M
battery is new . Anyway for a long time I had no issue with this port and
it started short ago after upgrading recent kernels.

No idea how to debug it. (this port is the high-power port, but it should
not matter). And this issue is really random, I worked one day with no
issue, but tonight I had two stops.

but it is not installed
[root@pcdesktop1 antonio]# rpm -qa libmpg123-1.22.4-1.fc24.x86_64.rpm
[root@pcdesktop1 antonio]#

then
[root@pcdesktop1 antonio]# dnf system-upgrade reboot
Errore: system is not ready for upgrade

How o I proceed??

strange behaviour of yumex-dnf

2016-05-24 Thread Antonio M
during last few days when I try to update/install/remove any package by

g-io-error-quark:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Python.AttributeError: Traceback
(most recent call last):
  File "/usr/lib64/python3.4/site-packages/dbus/service.py", line 707,
in _message_cb
retval = candidate_method(self, *args, **keywords)
  File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnfdaemon/server/__init__.py",
line 83, in newFunc
rc = func(*args, **kwargs)
File "/usr/share/dnfdaemon/dnfdaemon-system", line 537, in RunTransaction
result = self.run_transaction()
  File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnfdaemon/server/__init__.py",
line 564, in run_transaction
self._check_gpg_signatures(to_dnl)
  File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnfdaemon/server/__init__.py",
line 713, in _check_gpg_signatures
result, errmsg = self.base.sigCheckPkg(po)
File "/usr/lib/python3.4/site-packages/dnf/util.py", line 79, in __getattr__
% (C.__name__, name))
AttributeError: 'Base' object has no attribute 'sigCheckPkg'
