Has anyone used CentOS or Fedora Atomic with OpsWorks? My searches on the internet haven't turned anything up, so I wanted to see if there was any experience/advice on here. High CPU usage of kswapd0 with no swap partition?
I recently did a clean install of Fedora during the upgrade to 24. I removed the swap partition because I'm ok with everything fitting in memory, but on occasion my whole system locks up and I've started keeping a log of top and it has shown that kswapd0 is using a lot of CPU. Is something not configured correctly on my system? Or any other ideas on what the source of this issue is? /boot and encrypted partitions?
I was luck enough to be bitten by this issue ( https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1212907 ) when attempting to do a clean install of F22. I copied all of my data off and then tried manually setting things up as separate partitions (instead of in an LVM) but it kept telling me that /boot couldn't be on a LUKS partition. The config I had was /home was encrypted and / was encrypted but then the biosboot partition was not encrypted, and all 3 were standard partitions. Is this something that's just not supported? I couldn't get GNOME3 working with dual monitors on my laptop ( https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/users/2013-July/438593.html ), so I gave MATE a try and it worked just fine. It basically felt just like GNOME2 (which makes sense since is just a fork of it) and I didn't have any issues with it. This article ( http://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2013/01/installing-the-mate-and-cinnamon-desktops-on-fedora-18/ ) recommends using the net install for "best results" and that probably is the recommended way to go, but I did it as a post install addition and it worked just fine. -- users mailing list users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Fedora Code of Conduct: http://fedoraproject.org/code-of-conduct Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question? I have a system that I upgraded from Fedora 18 to 19 recently and I just installed eclipse, but it says that there's no JVM when I try and run it. I noticed that /usr/bin/java is a symbolic link to /etc/alternatives/java which is then a symbolic link to /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.7.0-openjdk/bin/java but it's actually installed at /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.7.0-openjdk.i386/bin/java. gnome-shell issue when ThinkPad T60 connected to dock with extra monitor
I posted about this issue on the devel list and it was recommended that I try here. That conversation can be found at: https://lists.fedoraproject.org/pipermail/devel/2013-July/185305.html Here's a description of the issue: I have a ThinkPad T60 that I recently upgraded to Fedora 19 from CentOS 6. With CentOS 6, I could connect to the dock with an extra monitor connected to the VGA port just fine, but with Fedora 19 it has issues. It used to crash when I connected it to the dock with the monitor connected: https://retrace.fedoraproject.org/faf/reports/142339/ https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=982442 I've updated using yum and now it doesn't crash, but I can't start any programs. When I click on a program icon to launch it, nothing happens. Based on feedback on the devel list, I tried the following: The keyboard works and I can hit Ctrl-Alt-F2 and then login and run commands on the console. I also tried creating a new account and it has the same issue. I also tried pressing the Windows Key and the Activities Overview doesn't pop up like it's supposed to and the only thing that I can get to do anything is right clicking on the desktop and then about a minute later the setting context menu will pop up.
