For some reason, something unusual happens with the temporary files from
the templates to create the instance.
May be try running setup-ds-admin.pl using sudo or as root.
What about a
rpm -qf /usr/sbin/setup-ds-admin.pl
and
rpm -q 389-ds-base
?

Yes, I have the same problem, changelogdb is about 13Gb (I have 1
entries in my environment, 2 node MMR) and my partition has less than
10% free space.

I have added attributes
nsslapd-changelogmaxage: 4w
and
nsslapd-changelogmaxentries: 5000

to cn=changelog5,cn=config and restarted both servers.

Should it shrink now automatically or do I need to do something else?

I believe it will stay to the same file size / will not shrink although
it is slowly trimmed as entries are cleared but not released.

Hi all, we've been running Fedora DS 1.04 for quite some time without

following in syslog:

localhost kernel: ns-slapd[2945]: segfault at rip
002a9574d4aa rsp 007fb250 error 4

Nothing is logged in the FedoraDS error logs. Does anyone have any
ideas?

Thanks,

You may want to add a little bit more information, like the platform
used, if any of ssl, replication, particular features are used, recent
changes in your configuration or data, system usage, and look into the
recent/last access log entries, then if possible, add some specific
verbose log.
You could also turn off access log caching, allow for core files on your
system, if this situation happens several times.

Hi Rich,

My apology, I'm actually using Red Hat DS. I knew that I would get a

From my understanding, there's no change or update in any software,
and we're using RHEL 5.2 64 bits.

redhat-ds-base-8.1.0-0.14.el5dsrv.x86_64.rpm
were the install and unsintall always done for 8.1? is it possible
there were some older bits of this rpm previously?

could be related to bz 391171 - libns_dshttpd wrong linkage on
XP_AccLangList

which was fix through errata
http://rhn.redhat.com/errata/RHEA-2009-0455.html
for
redhat-ds-base-8.1.0-0.14.el5dsrv.x86_64.rpm
kind of strange, I wonder if you had prior versions installed.

I uninstall the LDAP using the /usr/sbin/ds_removal script and
reinstall the LDAP using the /usr/sbin/setup-ds-admin.pl
<http://setup-ds-admin.pl> with an *.inf for silent install.

I'm a bit clueless on what went wrong because it was working all
along. I even uninstall all the packages and reinstall the packages
following the RHDS manual.

What happened? Did you change/update any software? What platform?
What version of 389-ds-base?
