I just had something similar happen to my desktop system. My keyboard is a Logitech K850 and it has a toggle sequence to flip from Fn key to their alternative function. I was having trouble with application mapped Fn keys and also the media (volume) alternative functions. On the K850 keyboard the toggle sequence is . -- Jon H. Likely when servicing they reset to the default bios settings and/or a new bios was installed and the default changed.
