Finally the system wide default paper size for libreoffice is Letter rather than A4! (The main problem is that google turns up 47,523,621 pages of people searching for the answer without finding it, so there is a lot of chaff to sort through :-). You really have to wonder why on earth libreoffice doesn't use the default paper size setting from the printer itself like every other program on the planet :-(. I just checked, in both F-15/64 and F16/64 I see Us Letter for the paper size. However, since both installs were from the Live/XFCE USB, as have been all my recent installs, I had to install LibreOffice via YUM in each case which may account for the difference? Both computers are updated recently. I have saved your suggestion however. I don't recall having to do anything particularly weird to make it happen, though it's probably been a couple months (and I'm not as young as I used to be...). Weird. It has been stuck on A4 for me since back when it was openoffice (though a few years ago you could go into Printer Setup..., set the paper size, and it would stick, but that setting stopped sticking a long time ago). I've got LO 3.4.4, what version are you using? I just got an update the other day: libreoffice-core-3.4.4.2-7.fc16.x86_64 The other weird thing is that at least half of the millions of google hits I found were folks in Europe stuck on Letter wanting it to default to A4, so I have no idea what is actually going on, but at least I stumbled across something that finally worked for me :-). -- users mailing list users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question? One thought - what if you reset your locale setting? Here if I make the locale UK then printers default to A4 - so I presume that if you have a US locale then it would be set to Letter. -- mike c -- users mailing list users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe or change subscription options: https://admin.fedoraproject.org/mailman/listinfo/users Guidelines: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Mailing_list_guidelines Have a question?
