Best added to the appropriate bug report so the people working on it

For what it's worth, the situation is *slightly* improved with 3.2.3.
Instead of completely losing contact with the WiFi card after a few
hours, the system loses the WPA authentication.

Here's the log at that point:

Different wireless card, slightly different problem:
kernel-3.2.2-1.fc16.x86_64 - card wont scan
kernel-3.2.1-3.fc16.x86_64 - works

Coincidence?

Backing out to kernel-3.2.1-3.fc16 works around the problem here.

OT: Re: kernel-3.2.2-1.fc16 breaks wifi

2012-01-30 Thread nullv
Kernel 3.2.1 broke my nilfs2 support also. Went back to 3.1.9 and now back to
good. I'll try out 3.2.2 later today to see if that's fixed.
I'd suggest to the kernel package maintainers that they should either keep
backward compatibility by compiling all the kernel & module options in as they
would have in their previous release, or at least keep the stuff they had moved
out of the main kernel by making kmod/akmod packages to keep the optional stuff
around for those who want it

kernel-3.2.2-1.fc16 breaks wifi

2012-01-30 Thread Christian Menzel
Hi,

the kernel-3.2.2-1.fc16 update broke the wifi on my Lenovo X220 (Intel(R)
Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6205 AGN, REV=0xB0).
The system detects and connects to a wireless lan, but after some minutes
the system cannot connect to other hosts anymore.
The wifi icon still shows and the system still has an ip-address but all
pings answer 'destination unreachable'.
After stopping/starting wifi the Internet connection will stay for a short
time before failing again.

For me kernel 3.2.2 is unusable and I went back to 3.2.1.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
