Re: [one-users] Change of OpenNebula's git url

2011-03-17 Thread Jaime Melis
Hello,

Apologies, there was a typo in the previous email, it should be
'.git/config' not '.ssh/config'!

cheers,
Jaime

[one-users] Change of OpenNebula's git url

2011-03-17 Thread Jaime Melis
Hello,

we've changed OpenNebula's git url to:
git://git.opennebula.org/one.git (or http://git.opennebula.org/one.git)

This change has been reflected in the dev portal [1].

To change the url in your existing git repo you can manually edit
'.ssh/config' and make the following change:
-   url = git://opennebula.org/one.git
+   url = git://git.opennebula.org/one.git

For a few days git://opennebula.org/one.git will continue to work, but it
will eventually disappear.

This change has no effect whatsoever over our Github mirror [2].

Regards,
Jaime

[one-users] Migration problem

Seems I have missed some key detail, when I attempt to migrate a vm it fails.

I can run a vm on the other host with libvirt / virt manager fine.

Any ideas come to mind or a suggestion on where to look?

Before attempted migration the image was owned by oneadmin:cloud

[one-users] New User: Problem with onevm creation

2011-03-17 Thread Ryan Aydelott
Hello, first time opennebula user here and I am having an issue with onevm
creation, files don't seem to link/write to the right server - perhaps I just
need a hint? I'm certain that I am missing something fairly obvious:

Environment:
opennebula 2.1.80 on centos 5.5 rpm install
xen hypervisor
both share nfsmount /srv/cloud/

Here are the relevant paths in oned.conf:

VM_DIR=/srv/cloud/one/var
SCRIPTS_REMOTE_DIR=/var/tmp/one
IMAGE_REPOSITORY_PATH = /srv/cloud/var/images

A quick sanity check:

[oneadmin@binaryfinary 32]$ onehost list
  ID NAME CLUSTER RVM TCPU FCPU ACPUTMEMFMEM STAT
   4 xen01 default0800800800 32G   30.7G   on

[oneadmin@binaryfinary 32]$ oneimage list
  ID USER NAME TYPE REGTIME PUB PER STAT #VMS
   1 oneadmin   gentoobase   OS   Mar 15, 2011 23:08  No Yes  rdy 0

I try to create the VM:

[oneadmin@binaryfinary images]$ onevm create gentoobase.one

I check, it fails:

[oneadmin@binaryfinary images]$ onevm list
   ID USER NAME STAT CPU MEMHOSTNAMETIME
   33 oneadmin gentooba fail   0  0K   xen01 00 00:00:03

Output from oned.log:

2011-03-17 Thread Łukasz Grabowski
Hi,

I wasn't running oned as the same user i was trying to log in, so it was the
first mistake.
What is more, I started reading about ssh and I found the information that
HOME directory can't be group or publicly writable, so I changed the
permission of the home directory.
It is working now. Thank you for your help.

Hi,

Please make sure that

 1) sshd is configured to accept public keys
 2) you are running oned as the same user you are trying to log in
passwordlessly

I thought that I did it executing the command:

Hi,

You need to enable that, basically adding the ssh public key of
oneadmin to the authorized_keys of the same oneadmin user.

Hi,

No, I can't access passwordlessly from the server to the server by executing
ssh localhost, it asks me for password.

Re: [one-users] Problem with host creation

2011-03-17 Thread Tino Vazquez
Hi,

It is possible to use the same server as front-end and worker node. As
oneadmin, can you access passwordlessly from the server to the server?

That is, can you get the following to work without input for a password:

$ ssh localhost

-Tino

Re: [one-users] Can't ping or ssh virtual machine!

2011-03-17 Thread Olivier Sallou

You add something like this to your template (raw is for kvm case):

GRAPHICS = [
  type= "vnc",
  listen  = "127.0.0.1",
  port= "5901",
  keymap  = "fr"
  ]

RAW = [ type = "kvm",
data = "path=\"/dev/pts/5\"/>tty=\"/dev/pts/5\">port=\"0\"/>" ]

then with tool like virt-manager you can access the "console"

Re: [one-users] Can't ping or ssh virtual machine!

2011-03-17 Thread Olivier Sallou
you should add a DISPLAY and login to console , you may have networking
issue (network on eth1 for example)

Re: [one-users] which user is used in the tm_clone.sh script

2011-03-17 Thread Pieter Simoens

Dear all,

  I have found a solution. Apparently, the scp command that is
  executed in the tm_clone.sh script (using tmssh as your transfer
  manager), uses your local full name. This means that, for the scp
  program, it looks like you are doing a file transfer between two
  remote hosts. In concrete, this means that the scp will do a ssh
  to your own machine! So, besides ensuring access for the oneadmin
  user to the cluster nodes without asking for a password, you
  should also make sure that you do this to your own machine.

  A second aspect to the solution is that your FULL machine name is
  used. For example: ssh oneadmin@frontend will differ from ssh
  onead...@frontend.full.domain.name (it was in my case, as I have
  both a public network interface and a private network interface).
  Depending on your /etc/hosts and /etc/hostname settings, you have
  to make that it is the correct one you configure.

  So in short, to avoid the problem, make sure that sudo -u ssh
  onead...@frontend.full.domain.name works perfectly!

  Best regards,
  Pieter

  Dear all,

I have a problem when I want to create a virtual machine ("onevm
create myvm.conf") . Studying the logs and previous posts on
this list, shows me that apparently there is a problem with the
ssh keys.
Nevertheless, the ssh keys for the oneadmin user are perfectly
configured.

More specifically, when I do a "sudo -u oneadmin ssh
clusternodename", I log in without asking for any password
question nor other problem.

I am thinking that the problem may be that I am not logging in
as the oneadmin user, and rather as root or user "pieter" (my
regular username).  However, I have no idea how I can arrange
this.

I have tried "sudo -u oneadmin onevm create myvm.conf", but
apparently, this is wrong syntax.
I tried to do a sudo su oneadmin, but then it asks for a
password that I have never generated.

Just to inform you: I have installed OpenNebula on a Ubuntu
machine through the apt package manager. Meaning (as far as I
could see) that I am running OpenNebula 1.2...
This package automatically creates the oneadmin user, but I
don't think it has ever asked me for a password. So I do not
know how to change to the oneadmin user...

Thank you in advance,
Pieter
