Re: [one-users] Contextualization variables

2011-03-25 Thread Madhurranjan Mohaan
Thanks Daniel.

 But those are just examples of some of the stuff that is supported. Do we
have an entire list ?

Also, I am really confused about the "files" option . What exactly goes in
there ?

*files - space-separated list of paths to include in context device*.

What kinds of files have people typically used while utilizing this feature
?

thanks

Ranjan

Re: [one-users] command to deploy VM on remote host

2011-03-25 Thread Héctor Sanjuán
Hi,

I believe it is:

deploy

OpenNebula passes the contents for that deployment file using STDIN. The
deploy script then creates the deployment file in the desired path and
writes the STDIN contents into it:

domain=$1

mkdir -p `dirname $domain`
cat > $domain

Hope it solves your question,

Héctor

Re: [one-users] command to deploy VM on remote host

2011-03-25 Thread knawnd

Hi Carlos,

Sorry I wasn't clear enough asking a question in my previous email in
that thread. I meant what arguments I need to pass during e.g. the
following invocation on remote host:

[remote_host]$ $SCRIPTS_REMOTE_DIR/vmm/xen/deploy
if I'd like to deploy xen VM
It looks for me as the script e.g. deploy is invoked as
[remote_host]$$SCRIPTS_REMOTE_DIR/vmm/xen/deploy xen

Regards,
Nikolay.

Carlos Martín Sánchez wrote on 25/03/11 14:16:

Hi Nikolay,

You can check (and customize) the vmm_mad script files for each
hypervisor in your $VAR_LOCATION/remotes/vmm dir.
If you modify these scrips, use 'onehost sync' to update the files in
the remote hosts.

e.g. for Xen and system-wide installation, check
/var/lib/one/remotes/vmm/xen/deploy (and xenrc).

Regards,
Carlos.

[one-users] occi-compute and common.erb scripts

2011-03-25 Thread PEDRO ASSIS
Hi,

I just upgrade my OpenNebula installation to the latest stable
version: 2.1.90, with Ruby version 1.9.2p180. Also, I'm running some
tests with OCCI client scripts. As I don't have an OCCI server
installed in my localhost, I'm targeting the dummy OpenNebula cloud:
https://devel.cloud.opennebula.org

Running the following command:

occi-compute create compute.xml --url
https://devel.cloud.opennebula.org --username passis --password XXX

I get the error message:

No such file or directory - /usr/local/one/etc/occi_templates/common.erb

This was true in the first trial, as the directory and files were both
missing. But, after a manual copy, I placed the following files at
the /usr/local/one/etc/occi_templates/ directory

-rw-r--r-- 1 pfa  pfa  1128 2011-03-25 11:15 common.erb

-rw-r--r-- 1 pfa  pfa   461 2011-03-25 11:15 custom.erb

-rw-r--r-- 1 pfa  pfa   213 2011-03-25 11:15 large.erb

-rw-r--r-- 1 pfa  pfa   215 2011-03-25 11:15 medium.erb

-rw-r--r-- 1 pfa  pfa   214 2011-03-25 11:15 small.erb

The compute.xml file is in the current directory and has the following content:

MyCompute 1

large

https://devel.cloud.opennebula.org/storage/0 />

https://devel.cloud.opennebula.org/network/26 />192.168.1

.1

Also, I've run the same command under another system, Ruby 1.8.6 and
OpenNebula 2.0.1, and got the same result. I've reviewed the
installations procedures and searched the mailing list contents, but I
didn't found anything of relevance.

Can someone in the list provide me with some hints?

Meantime, I will try to run previous command with the -rdebug option.

Thanks,

Pedro

Re: [one-users] Permission libvirt/qemu driver

2011-03-25 Thread Madhurranjan Mohaan
Hello* *Guillaume ,

I faced this very issue. I have the following suggestions :

1. See if you can deploy that vm using "virsh" . Try virsh create
 . And check that with "virsh list". You might want to
set the following environment variable before you do that : export
VIRSH_DEFAULT_CONNECT_URI=qemu:///system

2. Make sure you have "one" process up and running on all your nodes that
are part of your cloud system. I had an issue where the xmlrpc package
wasn't the right one installed on the node and as such the "one" process was
down.

3. Are you able to successfully ssh from the machine where you are running
"onevm" to the one where it is going to be created ?

4. Try creating the interface with onevnet and then try to execute that. Let
us know your outputs.

thanks

[one-users] Unable to add image to repository

2011-03-25 Thread Madhurranjan Mohaan
Hi All,

I have an ISO that I want to add to the image repository. Earlier I had this
working but I wanted a clean setup so deleted the image from using "oneimage
delete" and now I am trying to add that back but its not working.

 oneimage create abc.img
*Error: [ImageAllocate] Error trying to CREATE IMAGE Error inserting Image
in DB.*

cat abc.img
NAME  = "Frame OS installation"
TYPE  = CDROM
PATH  = "/srv/cloud/one/frameos-6.iso"
DESCRIPTION   = "Installation test."

Can you suggest what's wrong here ?

thanks

Re: [one-users] command to deploy VM on remote host

2011-03-25 Thread Carlos Martín Sánchez
Hi Nikolay,

You can check (and customize) the vmm_mad script files for each hypervisor
in your $VAR_LOCATION/remotes/vmm dir.
If you modify these scrips, use 'onehost sync' to update the files in the
remote hosts.

e.g. for Xen and system-wide installation, check
/var/lib/one/remotes/vmm/xen/deploy (and xenrc).

Regards,
Carlos.

[one-users] VM config template

Dear all,

is it possible to change ONE VM template format in case of OpenVZ
hypervisor and would it be enough to take those changes into account in
OvzDriver.cc only? Or ONE VM template format is robust and the changes
in other files are required as well (if yes then in which files?)?

For example, I'd like to write MEMORY parameter for OpenVZ VM as
MEMORY  = [ KMEMSIZE="14372700:14790164",
LOCKEDPAGES="2048:2048",
PRIVVMPAGES="65536:69632",
SHMPAGES="21504:21504",
PHYSPAGES="0:unlimited",
VMGUARPAGES="33792:unlimited",
OOMGUARPAGES="26112:unlimited" ]

whereas for xen now it looks like

MEMORY = 256.

Re: [one-users] force to update cluster nodes info

Sorry for the noise! It seems the problem is in xentop (for some reason
it reports wrong free memory capacity what doesn't correspond to the
'free -m' output.

Dear all,

Is there any way to force to update cluster nodes info (I mean that
one which is shown when 'onehost list' is executed).

Thanks.
Nikolay.
