Re: [one-users] Upgrading from 3.0 to 3.2 source Deploy and Migrate buttons lost

2012-01-30 Thread Hector Sanjuan

Hello,

if you still keep the server where sunstone had this problem, it would be
useful to have the oned.log extract around the time when you perform a
login in Sunstone. Normally, there should be some lines like "[AuM][D]:
Message received: AUTHENTICATE SUCCESS 187 -"

This behaviour has been reported in various situations, and not
specifically after DB upgrade, which suggest it's possibly not be an
individual issue.

It could be a bug in the authentication module, and as such, maybe the log
says something interesting.

Thanks,

Hector

I don't know wich part is the oned.log refer to sunstone. Can you show
me an example what I need to look for?

I made a fresh install at my PC and seems sunstone working on it
properly. I checked with Chrome inspect elements and there were other
cookies than my "not working" server.

On the server I have only the sunstone cookie, on my PC chrome lists:
sunstone, one-user, one-user_id, one-user_gid.

I replaced my whole opennebula/lib folder on my server but the
authentication error still there.

On my server I'm using MySQL database. Can it be a DB or Configuration
issue and upgrade maybe messed up something there?

2012/1/29 Hector Sanjuan :

Hi,

could you also send the oned.log, at least the part including the
sunstone

login? Thanks!

Thanks for your answer.

Can you send the output of "oneuser show 0 -x" (or the UID of
oneadmin if

not 0).
Could you also add more lines to the sunstone-server.rb, after the
$stderr.puts "User GID is #{user['GID']}":

$stderr.puts "User object: #{user}"
$stderr.puts user.to_xml

and rerun de suntone server and retry the login? You can remove the
password
tags if you want. Thank you!

Hello, please

* Remove browser caché
* Delete cookies (or the suntone one)
* Check if it happens with several browsers (Chrome and Firefox).
* Check that oneadmin belongs to a the admin group with gid 0.

Let me know if that fixes it. If not, please send your browsers
versions
(and on which SO you are using them), and anything special about
your
sunstone setup if applies. Then I would appreciate if you tried
what I

suggested here so I can narrow down the problem:

Would you mind try using uppercase keys? If this fixes the problem I
will change these values in the conf file and documentation.

2012-01-30 Thread Sándor Guba
I tryed to compare the working and not working pages in google chrome.
Both pages sends back the cookie information in the header:

Request Cookies:
   sunstone cb44c1c08c6d18c002d52b9e14d6c1013ad76fab798dea0b81395e6881253a35
Response Cookies:
   one-user oneadmin
   one-user_id 0
   one-user_gid 0

But seems that the working version remember the cookies and the not
working fogot them except the one named "sunstone".

What I don't get ist that it creates a directory on the remoteserver but does

What I'm doing wrong?

è Host hey verification failed??? That can't really be, because I'm able to
login remote with the key and it's in the known_hosts. A manual copy of the img
works fine.
I'm using the latest debian package from the opennebula site, not from repo
Is there a bug again?
Thanks for your help!

   227 oneadmin oneadmin one-227 runn 0 0K dev-clmesx1.ini
00 00:05:28

It's always 0 CPU and MEM for vm's on ESX, the KVM hosts works fine out
of the box.

The host-monitoring is working though (with the cli):

[oneadmin ~]$ onehost list
ID NAME RVM TCPU FCPU ACPU TMEM FMEM AMEM
STAT
  18 dev-clmesx1.ini 140040030032G 25.6G 31.5G
 on
  19 dev-clmesx2.ini 2200200 0 4G 3.2G 3G
 on
  23 kvm01.init.se3800580500 31.3G 25.3G 29.3G
 on

But the "hosts" page in the sunstone webgui always show "0% CPU Use"
and "20% Memory Use" for VMware hosts.

It seems like sunstone does not get the same information as the cli,
looking at the

"Host information" for the first host dev-clmesx1.init.se it says:
Max Mem32G
Used Mem (real) 0K
Used Mem (allocated)0K
Used CPU (real) 0
Used CPU (allocated)200
Running VMs 2

Shouldn't those values be the same as reported by the cli? Only the Max
Mem is correct.

The funny thing is that the graphs under "Monitoring information" that
are updated by oneacctd

does show accurate changes in CPU and MEM usage over time.

Isn't this information vital for opennebula to work correctly?
How can the scheduler determine if a ESX-server can handle more vm's
when it does not know how much resources each vm consume?

The obvious way to get this information would be with the dominfo
command in virsh.
Looking at the vmware_driver.rb there is only one place where dominfo
is used,

and it looks like it only checks the status of the virtual machines.

I realise dominfo can not show anything but static information about
CPU and MEM usage,

but it seems better to report that, than not reporting anything?

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I've searched the mailinglist
for information about this,

have not found much at all about monitoring and VMware.

Re: [one-users] Remus support

2012-01-30 Thread Carlos Martín Sánchez
Hi,

OpenNebula does not support Remus management. You can read in the links
below what OpenNebula offers in terms of fault tolerance [1] and high
availability [2].

Perhaps a tight integration with Remus is not easy, because OpenNebula
assumes total control of the VM life-cycle and placement. But you might be
able to make OpenNebula tolerate this sudden live-migrations.

Drivers in OpenNebula are implemented with small scripts, you could modify
the xen drivers [3] to be aware of the Remus migrations and redirect the
actions to the new back-up host. Hooks [4] can be also used to trigger
external scripts upon some events of the VM life-cycle, and Host [5] and VM
[6] monitoring scripts can be extended to store any relevant information
you might need to use in the hooks or xen drivers.

Regards.

[one-users] problem with RANGED network (or caching)

2012-01-30 Thread Rolandas Naujikas
Hi,

It worked but now it doesn't work anymore.
I cannot create any VM from templates with network from virtual
networks. Those virtual networks have unused leases.

For example sunray-xen template with "NIC=[ NETWORK=SUNRAY ]" and
onevnet show SUNRAY as

VIRTUAL NETWORK 7 INFORMATION

ID : 7
NAME : SUNRAY
USER : rolnas
GROUP : oneadmin
TYPE : RANGED
BRIDGE : br428
VLAN : No
PHYSICAL DEVICE:
VLAN ID:
USED LEASES: 0

PERMISSIONS

OWNER : um-
GROUP : ---
OTHER : ---

VIRTUAL NETWORK TEMPLATE

NETWORK_MASK=255.255.0.0

RANGE

IP_START : 192.168.42.36
IP_END : 192.168.42.40

And now onetemplate instantiate sunray-xen shows only:
[TemplateInstantiate] Error allocating a new virtual machine. Could not
get virtual network for VM.

Regards, Rolandas

P.S. The version is OpenNebula 3.2.0
P.S. When I put references to images and network by ID (not name): Error
allocating a new virtual machine (nothing specific).

[one-users] Symmetric Key Configuration

2012-01-30 Thread Sándor Guba
After upgrade opennebula it said that I have wrong chiper conf... I
read http://opennebula.org/documentation:rel3.2:cloud_auth#symmetric_key.
But I have no idea what I should write in the
/var/lib/one/.one/sunstone_auth file. In the database I have a
server_admin with server_cipher driver and a hashed pass. What now?

Re: [one-users] problem with RANGED network (or caching)

2012-01-30 Thread Rolandas Naujikas
Hi,

I just did upgrade to 3.2.1 and it didn't solve my problem.
I'm getting:

oneadmin@cloud00:~$ onetemplate instantiate sunray-xen
[TemplateInstantiate] Error allocating a new virtual machine.

Finally I found the cause. I want to have HOSTNAME="vm\$((echo
$NIC[IP,NETWORK=\"NET-NAME\"]|cut -d. -f4) - 35))" in CONTEXT. It is
accepted as valid template, but fails to start (in very strange ways).
With that I want to solve problem with setting hostname depending on IP.
There are no way to use DNS or other ways to do that. I tried in VM, but
it is not reliable ("getent hosts $IP" returns nothing when network is
not ready yet).

Regards, Rolandas

P.S. I'm trying to use opennebula to manage production services VM, with
fixed IP<=>HOSTNAME (with pools also).

[one-users] Wrong image-size reported by oneimage

2012-01-30 Thread Håkan Iaksson

In opennebula-3.2.0 every VMware-image that is created with oneimage
has the wrong size (as reported by "oneimage list").

The problem is in $ONE_LOCATION/var/remotes/image/fs/fsrc

The du command is used on dirs, and reports the size in kilobytes, but
the expected

size is in bytes (as reported by stat if the image is only a file).

Here is a diff that makes the size calculation work properly for us:

Re: [one-users] ONE 3.2 Default Quotas are ignored?

2012-01-30 Thread Akihiko Ota
Hi Daniel,

Ok, I have changed keys to uppercase.

[ascadm@frontend]% grep -v '^#' /srv/cloud/one/etc/auth/quota.conf
:db: sqlite:///srv/cloud/one/var/onequota.db
:defaults:
  :CPU: 8
  :MEMORY: 2048
  :NUM_VMS: 2
  :STORAGE: 10240

(Note that ":defaults:" needs to keep lowercase.) Then Default Quotas
 have worked correctly.

[ascadm@frontend]% cat quotatest.one
NAME   = "quotatest"
CPU= 4
VCPU   = 4
MEMORY = 1024
OS = [ boot = "hd", arch = "x86_64" ]
DISK   = [ IMAGE_ID = 0, BUS = virtio ]
NIC= [ NETWORK_ID = 0, model = "virtio" ]
NIC= [ NETWORK_ID = 1, model = "virtio" ]

[ascadm@frontend]% onevm create quotatest.one
ID: 20
[ascadm@frontend]% onevm create quotatest.one
ID: 21
[ascadm@frontend]% onevm create quotatest.one
[VirtualMachineAllocate] User [2] : CPU quota exceeded (Quota: 8.0,
Used: 8.0, Requested: 4.0); MEMORY quota exceeded (Quota: 2048, Used:
2048, Requested: 1024); NUM_VMS quota exceeded (Quota: 2, Used: 2,
Requested: 1).

[ascadm@frontend]% oneimage create image1.one
ID: 6
[ascadm@frontend]% oneimage create image2.one
ID: 7
[ascadm@frontend]% oneimage create image3.one
[ImageAllocate] User [2] : STORAGE quota exceeded (Quota: 10240, Used:

Thank you very much!
