Re: [one-users] Windows on opennebula

2013-12-19 Thread Kenneth

You are using the web GUI for your windows VM right? Mine too is
very unstable so I installed a VNC server (tightVNC) on the windows vm
and then use a vnc client to control it. I don't use nebula to control
the windows vm.

[one-users] Windows on opennebula

2013-12-19 Thread Mario Giammarco
Hello,
I was finally able to install a windows xp machine on my
ceph/kvm/opennebula.

I am using now spice protocol and adding some rawdata now windows uses qxl
driver.

Unfortunately mouse movement is jerky/unstable.
It was not good with vnc but it has not improved enough with spice.

Can you help me?

Thanks,

Hi Thibault,

Have you released the patch to use redis instead of memcached? It can be a
addition for a guide on Sunstone.

Cheers

Re: [one-users] Generating deployment file takes long time

2013-12-19 Thread Carlos Martín Sánchez
Hi,

The deployment file is probably generated immediately, the exit code 0 is
from the driver deploy action. The log should also say when the driver
action is called, we already have a ticket to address this [1].

Still doesn't work.

I look in some vmware forums and the vmware staff told that this kind
of command is just for the root user.

Do you have an ESXi host and can issue this command as non-root?

Weird, it does work in my setup with those permissions.

Try setting setuid bit (chmod +s) and see if that helps,

So there is a failure monitoring TOTAL and FREE space in the DS. This
comes from the following line in the monitoring script:

 DF_STR=\$($DF -m | grep ${BASE_PATH%/} | sed -e 's/ \+/:/g')

Let's try this manually. What's the output of the following, as

[one-users] Attaching big immutable disks to virtual machines

2013-12-19 Thread Valerio Schiavoni
Hello,
we have the following use-case for our ON deployment.
Some of our users need to run lightweight VMs (a very simple ubuntu-server
with few basic tools).
These users share some immutable data, which they used to access via a
shared server.
The size of such data is pretty big (few hundreds of gigabytes) and their
content is immutable.

What is the best approach to let their VMs see those big datas ?

We use OpenNebula 4.4.

Thanks,
Valerio

2013-12-19 Thread Jaime Melis
Hi guys,

I just spoke with Samuel on the IRC and he's going to try and manually
revert this patch:

http://dev.opennebula.org/issues/2318
(
https://github.com/OpenNebula/one/commit/a775bb295802bccfd53b44d1e874b9a135efc130

He'll reply with the results. Let's see if we can narrow it down.

cheers,

Hi,

You don't need ganglia to monitor hosts and VMs, with the out of the

Re: [one-users] VMWare image on ONE 4.4

2013-12-19 Thread Tino Vazquez
Hi Eduardo,

I'll be interested in the patch for the 'non df' host, can you share that?

About the error, maybe you are missing this setuid:

chmod +s /bin/vim-cmd

[one-users] problems with openvswitch after upgrading to 4.4

2013-12-19 Thread samuel
Hi folks,

We're just evaluating new version 4.4 and everything seems to work except
for a network issue with openvswitch. From inside the VM the nic is
attached but no traffic is flowing.

Debugging the process everything seems ok.

Sunstone log:
Thu Dec 19 09:36:58 2013 [VMM][I]: Successfully execute virtualization
driver operation: attach_nic.
Thu Dec 19 09:36:58 2013 [VMM][I]: post: Executed "sudo ovs-vsctl set Port

going to the host:
the port is effectively created:
ovs-vsctl show

Interface "vnet4"

 ovs-dpctl show bridge
port 112: vnet4

Can anyone provide any information about how to debug further why there's
no traffic?

Thanks in advance,
Samuel.
