Hi List, GlobalSign is providing free wildcard SSL certs for Open Source projects [1]. [one-users] Automatic configuration of VMs with Puppet
Hi, Configuring more than a handful of VMs can be tiresome and error prone. Now that you have VM creation automated with OpenNebula you can go the extra mile and add a Configuration Management System to the mix (in case you haven't already done that). Here is a post on some ideas on how to do this integration. It is based on Puppet and CentOS but the same principles can be used for any other system. You'll see that is not hard at all. http://opennebula.org/automatic-configuration-of-vms-with-puppet/ In case you have something similar for Puppet or any other CMS it would be great if you share your recipes or ideas so other people can benefit from it. Thanks for any hint. Mario We don't have any way to tell the scheduler to ignore the VM requirements, and I think it would be a problematic feature. Memory overcommitment (up to a certain amount) may not have a noticeable impact, but a full disk will certainly do. I think your best option is to have the fault tolerance script do the forced deploy. [one-users] Shutting down a VM
Hello all, shutdown down a VM from within this VM using shutdown or poweroff stops? the VM leaving it in State: Active and LCM State: Unknown. The VM template has been configured with ACPI and acpid runs inside the VM. Is it possible to use the linux commands (shutdown/poweroff) to bring a VM down and OpenNebula reporting this particular VM as being stopped? Regards -- -- Vassilis. Re: [one-users] instantiating template for Debian xen
For Xen 4.x with xm use driver = file:. In Xen 3.x it works (and I think goes faster) with tap:aio: but I fear it is not the case with your version.
