[one-users] ESXi image datastore (default) not working?

2014-01-22 Thread Davide Papini
I sent earlier the same email without subject, I apologize for that, I am
resending the same one with a subject now.

I have a problem downloading images from marketplace and I think it is due
to the fact that openebula cannot interface with esxi.

I use opennebula 4.4 and esxi5.1 (fresh install)

When I try to import an image from the marketplace I get a space error.
I tryed to tell opennebula to skip free space check and then I get another
error:

ERROR Wed Jan 22 16:01:54 2014 : Error copying image in the datastore:
Error copying /var/lib/one/tmp/eba28569ed15dbf0bbe425d431683657 to
/var/lib/one//datastores/1/eba28569ed15dbf0bbe425d431683657 through SCP

could someone please help me with that?

I think the problem is in the vmfs datastore configuration.

to configure opennebula I used the guide at:

http://docs.opennebula.org/stable/design_and_installation/quick_starts/qs_centos_vmware.html#qs-centos-vmware

what troubles me is that I think opennebula tries to write on
/vmfs/volumes/1 instead that /vmfs/volumes/datastore1 (on the esxi machine)

the output of onedatastore show 1 -x is:

[one-users] adding an existing VMFS datastore

2014-01-13 Thread Davide Papini

Dear All

I am a researcher and at the university we are installing an opennebula
cloud. for now we have just one ESXi node.

I installed the opennebula frontend on a VM on the ESXi server. This is
the same ESXi server which I would like to use as a node for opennebula.

My question is simple:

-does opennebula destroy the datastore and resctructure it when the vmfs
datastore along with the ESXi node is added to the setup?

-can I configure the system and images datastores on the same datastore?
How can I do this?

Thanks
