Ruben, this would be great. I'm running 4.10.0-1, is "off-line"

Any thoughts as to where I might have gone wrong?

Thank you olivier. It seems that there is something wrong with the
option -H when using sunstone-server command .So I edited the
$ONE_LOCATION/bin/sunstone-server and replaced line ' HOST="127.0.0.1" '

Thank you for your reply, Daniel. I have tried following your advice.
I stoped Sunstone and started it with arguments : -H ip-of-head-cloud

I'm a little confused about the -H option. Does it refer to the ip of

Try enabling the VNC option. This might give you
some indication about what went wrong. Ssh or ping will only
work if the VM successfully booted and successfully
configured the network. VNC is available from the very start
of the boot process.

If this fails, I can give you a Ubuntu 10.4 image
and template that works here. It requires KVM as hypervisor
and an existing DHCP server to obtain an IP address.

Regarding your image, all depends if you dhcp etc...
Your connection issue may be a bad network setup. I don't know what is
default for Eucalyptus images.

Furthermore, with ubuntu, there is network persistence. If image has
been used once, mac address is associated with one ethernet interface.
So on next reuse, the new mac address used is associated to an other

failure.

If you want to check your ubuntu image, you should connect to console

Re: [one-users] Why is the OpenNebula 1.4 binary package for Ubuntu in system-wide mode?

2010-08-12 Thread Jeff Williams
I would guess because the ubuntu packaging standards have rules about where
everything should be put. This way, someone familiar with Ubuntu will know
where to find things and bin files will be in their path etc.

The 2.0 beta ubuntu package is in the self-contained mode and I would have much
preferred the system wide!

Should I be using another driver? I assumed the xen one would be the right one,
however I see in the xen notes that it requires /etc/init.d/xend and uses xm,
both of which XCP doesn't appear to have.

Any ideas?

Jeff

[one-users] A couple of questions

2010-08-04 Thread Jeff Williams
Hi,

I'm new to looking at the opennebula project and have a couple of questions
which I couldn't find answers for on the site:

1) Can the infrastructure manager component be installed as a VM as you would
with vmware's vcenter?
2) Can you use Xen Cloud platform servers as the nodes?
