Hi Brett,

That is a point - I will consider it uploading some sipp scenarios for
traffic testing and a description of how to set up a testing platform.

Best regards,
Bogdan

2010-01-05 Thread Brett Nemeroff
Actually, what may be good is some methodologies on *how* to benchmark. It's
outside of the scope of opensips itself. But I understand Yin's point
regarding needing some stats to decide if opensips is the right product.

Because of the various things you can do with Opensips, and the various
programming styles and various hardware and network configurations any
amount of statistical information that doesn't explicitly reference a
particular setup, configuration, architecture is useless.

Hi Yin,

Something like you ask is not possible - again, when you do a
benchmarking, you do for a specific configuration - and configurations
can be billions (so far I haven't seen 2 alike :) ).

Different kind of measurements can be found here:

Re: [OpenSIPS-Users] .Can OpenSips support SBC?

2010-01-04 Thread Bogdan-Andrei Iancu
Hi YinLin,

Well, for opensips, the cps (calls per second) is the most relevant
param. And the value is higly depending on the complexity of the
configuration/routing script.

You can do a simple SBC for NAT, but also you can do (as have recently
implemented) and SBC with TLS, NAT traversal, disaptching and failover
between servers, topology hiding, redirect handling, etc

So, it is hard to give a number without having the script itself.

Bogdan

[OpenSIPS-Users] Can OpenSips support SBC?

2010-01-04 Thread 尹林
 Hi,
I want to know whether the opensips support SBC
with dual NICs,
If yes, whether opensips can be used
to construct a sbc cluster with the function of load
balancing,
and is there any performance test data as a
sbc?

Re: [OpenSIPS-Users] Can OpenSips support SBC?

2009-12-29 Thread Bogdan-Andrei Iancu
Hi Yinlin,

SBC is a very large concept - depending on what exactly you are looking
for (SBC for NAT, topo hiding, proto change, security, etc), OpenSIPS
may do it for you, with whatever number of NICs.
After that, it is a just a matter of scripting (in the cfg file) to add
LB functionality and clustering.

Bogdan
