Hi,

The Modelica demos requires a C compiler to be executed, I think there is 
something wrongly configured on you system that make the translator failed. 
Could you please post a description of your software setup ?

Is it Windows or Linux ?
Do you have a compiler installed ?

If Windows, post the output of findmsvccompiler()

Can you try to use a "main branch" nightly-build version (see 
https://gitlab.com/scilab/scilab/-/wikis/Developers/active-branches)?
We recently switched to Java 17 and JoGL 2.5.0 (what fixed some similar issues).

Right, it is a problem since since 6.1.

If one does not want to start Scilab in the terminal, I have written a how-to at
