RE: Testing Maven 3.2.3

2014-08-13 Thread Sievers, Jan
I can confirm https access to https://repo.maven.apache.org/maven2 works fine
with staged maven 3.2.3 when building Tycho demo project

http://git.eclipse.org/c/tycho/org.eclipse.tycho-demo.git/tree/itp04-rcp

from behind an http(s) proxy.

Hi,

We have staged Maven 3.2.3 and I'd ask that users try and test this version
because we have changed to using the HTTPS connection to Maven Central by
default. The information for the release can be found below. I encourage users
to give this release a spin before we actually release it to ensure the HTTPS
connection is working for everyone.

Re: Testing Maven 3.2.3

2014-08-13 Thread Jason van Zyl
Unlikely. The cost of the connection setup is negligible in the grand scheme of
things if the connections are pooled and you're using something like SPDY/HTTP2
and a good client. Trying to manage TLS and non-TLS connections to the same
server would not be worth the complexity for likely no performance improvement.
Note that all Google servers are SPDY-enabled and all modern Android devices
will connect using SPDY and this all scales and performs well.

archetype:integration-test generated archetype build depends on parent project

2014-08-13 Thread Robert Metzger
Hi,

we use the archetype:integration-test to test if the archetypes we generate
successfully compile.
Our archetypes (we call them quickstart) are located within the main
project.
So we have
- parent
  - core
  - runtime
  - clients
  - quickstart
 - quickstart-java
 - quickstart-scala
as a project hierarchy.

To build the archetype generated by quickstart-java we need the artifacts
from core and runtime.
So if we do a mvn clean verify on our project, and the user has not
executed mvn clean install before (and the artifacts are not available
online), the build fails.

Is there a way to tell maven to add the artifacts from core and runtime
into the tests classpath?
Or can we somehow automatically execute the install phase when a user
requests the verify phase?

You can find our project here: https://github.com/apache/incubator-flink

Plugins to extend the APT format? (For use with the Maven Site plugin)

2014-08-13 Thread Nick Burch

Hi All

For Apache Tika, we currently use the Maven Site plugin, along with the
APT format for our site content. We are looking to automatically pull in
snippets of code from svn into the published site, much as the ASF CMS
supports https://blogs.apache.org/infra/entry/scaling_down_the_cms_to

I'm fairly happy about how to do the snippet-fetching part, what's
stumping me is finding an example plugin to allow the Maven Site plugin to
process additional kinds of markup in the APT format. (Or failing that,
any other simple-ish Maven Site plugin supported formats like Markdown)

Could anyone point me to an example for extending one of the formats like
this?

Thanks
Nick
