I have a multi-project configuration with a parent pom specifying a compiler plugin with a default of jdk1.5 specified in the parent pom's dependency management section. However, I have two submodules with packaging as jars that need to be compiled with jdk1.4.
I tried overriding the compiler plugin in the submodule pom for these two, but instead it tries to compile it twice; first with jdk1.5, then with jdk1.4 (which does nothing because it consideres the output from the previous compile up-to-date). As I understand it, the jar packaging is pulling in the default jdk1.5 compile. How can configure the maven compiler plugin for jdk1.4 for just these modules?
