How do i install the Maven Repository-Manager ?

2006-05-24 Thread Malcolm Wong Ho
Hi,

Do i just deploy the war to a servlet container? the main component i want to
use is the proxy.

Thank you kindly

RE: Need information on maven proxy

2006-05-18 Thread Malcolm Wong Ho

I am currently using ntlmaps to authenticate on the NTLM proxy, Maven works
fine thought using ntlmaps as a proxy. It is only when i set up maven-proxy to
use it, is when i get an 'java.net.ConnectException: Connection refused' error.

Ask Microsoft for cross-platform Java code that supports NTLM proxies
and I'm sure it will be integrated into Maven. ;-)

Normally, you have an error before this line. What is it?

Continuum can't open the file. Perhaps a connection problem.

Hmm, very strange, this method exist and it's always used.

Can you send the files list of apps/continuum/lib directory?

RE: [M2] How to only delete .class files ?

Due to WSAD project directory structure, eg an ejb project has an ejbModule
that is both the sourceDirectory and outputDirectory.

Using maven, I don't know... It's not a standard practise. Stick with
the standard.

What do you gain at using the same directory for source and output?

(
On Linux you could do
find src/main/java -name *.class | xargs rm
but I guess you're not on Linux...

I mainly develop for the websphere enviroment, should i use M1 or M2 for the
build process. There is better support and documentation for M1, but M2 is
easier and where Maven is heading.

As the defacto maintainer of the maven 1 was5 plugin, and someone who
isn't moving to m2 at this point, we've been asked this at sourceforge
a couple of times, but it needs someone to step up and do the work.

The antrun plugin probably couldn't be used (guessing here), as the
was5+ ant tasks must be executed using a special ant launcher
 (ws_ant).

I thought Cargo was supposed to do all this stuff, or does it not
 support WebSphere?

Yeah unfortunately the current Cargo committers do not use WAS. We'd
love to
get some help on this though. We can easily help anyone who's interested
and
support him. It can probably be added in a matter of a few hours (2-3
hours
for someone who knows WAS already I'd say).

We'd love to have WAS support in Cargo.

Thanks
-Vincent

A couple of ways presently:

- use -o on the command line (it can be in MAVEN_OPTS), but this
disables all downloads
- ad a pluginRepository to your project (or one you inherit from) with id
= central and snapshotPolicynever/snapshotPolicy
- explicitly list all plugins you use in pom.xml with their versions.

We intend to improve this in the next release:
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/MNG-379

Note that plugin updates should only be checked, and published after
sufficient testing so there should be no harm in leaving it enabled at the
moment.

Brett
