Corporate Parent POM
Hello Experts, We have nearly 100 applications and I would like to have a central corporate POM which is a parent to the child POMs in all applications. How should I design a POM at the top level to govern and delegate the functionalities to the child POMs in all the applications? Trying to find some examples on the web, but could not find any as such. Can you please point some references to my requirement. RE: Corporate Parent POM
Hi Justin, Thanks for your input and it is very helpful in understanding how this can be worked out. Have another question - I am having 100 applications in 100 different SVN repositories and in this case how can I refer this Corporate POM in the parent POM of the individual applications which are residing in 100 different repositories. Can you please throw me some ideas on this aspect. Thanks Regards, Logu Rajamanickam -Original Message- From: Edelson, Justin [mailto:justin.edel...@mtvstaff.com] Sent: Thursday, July 30, 2009 3:31 PM To: Maven Users List Subject: RE: Corporate Parent POM I think the best way to do this is through properties where you set a default in the corporate POM and allow children to override it. If it helps you, the open-source version of our corporate poms are on kenai: http://kenai.com/projects/mtvn-master-pom/sources/source/show/trunk. These are not identical to our internal corporate poms, but they're reasonably close. Errors which was resolved in JIRA: MSITE-286
Hi, I'm using maven-2.0.8 to build up the Java code and to generate the site out of it. The site-plugin being used while building is 2.0-beta-7 and I could see an error trace as below in the build log. Even though it doesn't impact the build/site generation, I would need to fix this. Having said in MSITE-286 that 2.0-beta-6 version of maven-site-plugin fixes this, I see the same error coming in 2.0-beta-7 which I believe is an upgraded version. Issues with Maven scm:checkout using Subversion revision
All, May be I'm not putting it a right way. Rather wanted to put it precisely as follows. On a command prompt using maven scm:checkout, how do we checkout the source code from a specific revison on the branch of a Subversion repository? I tried the below mentioned command and got the latest(or HEAD) from that branch instead from the exact revision of that branch. Would require someone's immediate assistance on this. Fw: Problem in updating SNAPSHOT libraries from remote repository
Hi All, Can you please suggest me a solution for this issue. I'm really waiting for your inputs upon this. Moreover in the path of the library which I have deployed in our internal repository and is referred as a dependency in my POM, I could see that the maven-metadata.xml inside the SNAPSHOT directory has the lastUpdated tag as lastUpdated20080215192313/lastUpdated whereas the one outside the SNAPSHOT directory has the lastUpdated tag as lastUpdated20070920200433/lastUpdated. For more clarity, I've put it as below. library-group/library-artifact/maven-metadata.xml metadata groupIdlibrary-group/groupId artifactIdlibrary-artifact/artifactId versionSNAPSHOT/version ? versioning ? versions versionSNAPSHOT/version /versions lastUpdated20070920200433/lastUpdated /versioning /metadata library-group/library-artifact/SNAPSHOT/maven-metadata.xml metadata groupIdlibrary-group/groupId artifactIdlibrary-artifact/artifactId versionSNAPSHOT/version ? versioning ? snapshot timestamp20080215.192313/timestamp buildNumber3/buildNumber /snapshot lastUpdated20080215192313/lastUpdated /versioning /metadata I think it is pulling out the version based on the lastUpdated tag on the maven-metadata.xml outside the SNAPSHOT directory. Can you please suggest why the maven-metadata.xml files(inside outside SNAPSHOT directory) are not sync with each other. Please let me know what needs to be done for resolving this issue. When I execute 'mvn -X clean install', I could see in the log that the lower version of SNAPSHOT for the application is only being fetched up instead of the latest one. I'm using Maven-2.0.4 and am wondering if there are any bugs with this version which got updated in any of the later versions. Please help me in resolving this issue. // In Remote Repository internal_app-20070920.200433-1.jar 48.8 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.jar.md5 0.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.jar.sha10.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom 0.2 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom.md5 0.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom.sha10.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT internal_app-20080118.162518-2.jar 35.4 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT ..-20080118.162518-2.jar.md5 0.1 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT ..-20080118.162518-2.jar.sha10.1 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT ..-20080118.162518-2.pom 0.2 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT ..-20080118.162518-2.pom.md5 0.1 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT ..-20080118.162518-2.pom.sha10.1 kb Fri, 18 Jan 2008 16:25:18 GMT internal_app-20080215.192313-3.jar 236.5 kbFri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT ..-20080215.192313-3.jar.md5 0.1 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT ..-20080215.192313-3.jar.sha10.1 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT ..-20080215.192313-3.pom 0.2 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT ..-20080215.192313-3.pom.md5 0.1 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT ..-20080215.192313-3.pom.sha10.1 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT maven-metadata.xml 0.3 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT maven-metadata.xml.md5 0.1 kb Fri, 15 Feb 2008 19:23:13 GMT maven-metadata.xml.sha1 // In the Build Log Downloading: http://remote-repo:16888/internal-snapshots/component/internal_app/SNAPSHOT/internal_app-20070920.200433-1.pom 297/297b 297b downloaded Downloading: http://remote-repo:16888/internal-snapshots/component/internal_app/SNAPSHOT/internal_app-20070920.200433-1.jar 4/48K 8/48K . . 48/48K 48K downloaded //In Local Repository after execution mvn -X clean install command internal_app-20070920.200433-1.jar48.8 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.jar.md5 0.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.jar.sha10.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom 0.2 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom.md5 0.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT ..-20070920.200433-1.pom.sha10.1 kb Thu, 20 Sep 2007 20:04:33 GMT Thanks Regards, Logu Rajamanickam Phone: 713-483-1638 - This communication is for informational purposes only.
