Re: Nexus repository manager

2008-02-19 Thread Jason van Zyl

Went well, not a hiccup for the small audience of 20.

We're going to giving the next rev to some clients, and folks in the
oss community to bang away on and if nothing craters we hope to
release a version this week. As I've said before the base version will
be OSS, but we are going to be providing support, and we're making a
commerical version with enterprise features. I'm generally not going
to talk about anything until it's actually on a public download site.

But we do support Proximity configurations so if you want to try a
repository manager you can use Nexus and we'll just detect the
configuration and without change Nexus will use that configuration
which you can then edit in the Nexus UI.

Nexus is a commercial product from Sonatype, so you should probably
contact them via their website for more information.

If you are interested in snapshot cleanup that works today, you
might

try Archiva: http://maven.apache.org/archiva/ :)

Re: Nexus repository manager

2008-02-13 Thread VUB Stefan Seidel
We're using archiva now. It's much easier to set up than proximity, but
awfully slow (similar to continuum). So we only use it for repo cleanup,
but for repo cache&proxy we stick with maven-proxy 0.2 - it has never
let us down ;)

With nexus, it seems, the situation is similar to HURD - it's coming
_next week_: http://blogs.sonatype.com/jvanzyl/2007/11/21.html

Re: Nexus repository manager

2008-02-12 Thread Jason van Zyl
We'll be doing another demo at Maven Day on Friday and get some
feedback but generally it's working well. But we are going to support
Proximity configurations so if you start with that today we'll support
those configurations.

There will be a commercial version, yes.

But the version of Proximity that we started with that is much
improved will be released as an open source project. We are doing a
public demo this week @ Friday, and a demo we did today went over well
so we're close. We'll gather feedback from Maven Day and see where we
stand.

If you are interested in snapshot cleanup that works today, you might
try Archiva: http://maven.apache.org/archiva/ :)
