Re: [Users] Kannel 1.4 + mbuni 0.9.8, config problem
Alessandro Grena wrote: The phone is configured right, as it receive and send sms and mms as well as push wap messages, kannel is working fine because it can send sms and pushwap messages. The strange part is that in the log kannel says that the message has been sent. Can be the wavecom modem that doesn't support mms, so it can't actually send? Alex Try to see if the command to configure the gprs connection is working with your modem. If the modem says it's an unrecognized command, then you have a no mms working modem. [Users] Should I pay or should I go ?:)
Hello, I'm installing mbuni and I've searched around some italian configurations to send MMS. As what I've seen , it seem there are no italian gateway configurations to let mms go to mobiles. In Italy it appears that our 3 main carriers use a kind of intranet to distribute MMS. The use of a special intranet for MMS is due to the fact that they make the sender pay 50€cents for the MMS to be sent, but the receiver pay nothing to read it. My mobile phone has some "strange" IP addresses as gateways and a friend of mine told me "if you want your mms go to mobiles correcly, you should make an agreement with a telco to let your MMS go through theier gateways". The other choice is to convince my MMS destinations to configure a special MMS profile - impossible. Then, if I were able to send MMS from an external net (internet) then I would be able to send MMS almost free (only the SMS indication would cost) - so the cause of the intranet. My problem, actually, is to ask if anybody knows a MMSC/gateway that is able to let MMS go to Italy at a good price.
