to try to explain the situation as I understand it. You might or might not
find my explanation clearer than the one given by GitHub.

As for NetBeans, although I prefer to order commits through the command
line, I certainly appreciate how the IDE highlights additions, revisions
and deletions. But someone should look into whether the Git integration in
NetBeans needs any adjustments.

2021-07-16 Thread Richard Grin
Thanks Neil. I have generated a token with the help of
https://docs.github.com/en/github/authenticating-to-github/keeping-your-account-and-data-secure/creating-a-personal-access-token.
I have used the generated token as the password and I can now push my
code to GitHub using the token.

Hi
   Just to add more information

   I and testing connectivity from Tools --> Option --> General --> Proxy
Settings there is "Test Connection" button. The test is failing but I am not
getting any logs in var folder related to it.

  I am using netbeans 12.2 with Adopt JDK 11 on windows. Everything is 64 bit.

Can you please guide me to increase logging level so that I can capture what
exactly is the issue.

Hi
   I am not able to connect to internet from netbeans. The "Test Connection"
fails. I am behind corporate proxy server which uses its own CA Certificate.
Can someone please guide me how to update the cacerts which is used by
netbeans. I have already added certificate to `lib/security/cacerts` using
keytool. Is there anything else which I need to do.

Error with JavaCC Tutorial

2021-07-16 Thread Tim Mullé
Hi,

I’m trying to complete this tutorial with 12.4 and ran into an issue..actually
2 but this I can’t seem to figure out.

https://netbeans.apache.org/tutorials/nbm-javacc-lexer.html
 and
https://netbeans.apache.org/tutorials/nbm-javacc-parser.html

When I run the module I see the colors work fine and I can type bad code and
see the errors in the gutter, etc

However, there seems to be an issue when trying to parse/lex multi-line
comments.

For example..

This is the sample text in my *.sj file from the tutorial

/**
 * This is a comment
 */
public class SimpleJavaExample {

// Another comment
@Deprecated public String method (int param) {
return "SimpleString " + '-' + 1.2;
}// line comment

/**
 * Trying again
 */
public static void main(String[] args) {
System.out.println("Hello World");
}
}

On initial loading of the file when starting the module, everything parses and
renders just fine.
However, if I try to type a multi-line javadoc comment I keep getting the error
below in the console.

The coloring of the text stops working and sometimes will work if I close the
multi-line comment.

If I save my changes and reopen the file in the editor the coloring is correct
including the new comments I added.

I keep getting the error below with different line numbers depending on where
I’m writing the multi-line comment.

0.  Encountered:  after : ""

Access to GitHub with a password is deprecated

2021-07-16 Thread Richard Grin

Hello,

Beginning August 13, 2021, GitHub will no longer accept account
passwords when authenticating Git operations and will require the use of
token-based authentication,such as a personal access token(for
developers) or an OAuth or GitHub App installation token (for
integrators) for all authenticated Git operations on GitHub.com..

I use a password to access GitHub. What other type of access is
recommended to access it from NetBeans 12.4? Is there a link that
explains how to do it? With the menu Team > Remote > Push... a user name
and a password are asked.

Richard

I think it would be good feedback to JFrog that paying customers use
NetBeans. Maybe that will convince them they need to invest into a plug-in.
