[PROPOSAL] Put FreePlane features on the navigator for OOWritter

2013-10-14 Thread Miguel Boyer
Folding and unfolding certain branches is essential for a good navigation
in a document with many headings and sub-heading.

I propose to implement the basic functionality of *FreePlane *into
OOWriter. I am talking about folding certain branches and also about moving
them. And, also, being able to do this with no mouse, just intuitive
keyboard shortcuts.

At the present time I copy my whole document into FreePlane for navigation,
then when I have to edit i go back to OOWriter (I get to the spot required
with the search feature and some text copied from FreePlane).

Basically what I'm saying is that we could implement most of the
functionality of *brain maps* into Writter with some improvement to the *
Navigator*. The functionality of the program would be amazingly boosted.

New Serbian (Latin script) website live

2013-10-14 Thread Rob Weir
A quick announcement that we now have a freshly translated website for
Serbian with Latin script (sr-latn) due to the efforts of Vladislav
Stevanovic "Wlada".

You can find it here:

http://www.openoffice.org/sr-latn/

Re: can I open a powerppoint presentation on my mac

2013-10-14 Thread kalle hauser
Always this questions like:
"can I open a powerppoint presentation on my mac"

"can i open doc-fioles with that?"

it seems, that the new users of AOO dont know about the featurs of AOO
maybe its time to add more informations (and alos pictures of the components of
AOO) to the

"I want to learn more about OpenOffice"-Page (http://www.openoffice.org/why/)
!!!

it cant be, that the new users dont know about the interoperability of AOO with
MS-formats (and other)

if i wouldnt use it since StarOffic 4, i maybe would also think, i have no
other application to open and edit MS-files, after reading the "I want to learn
more about OpenOffice"-Page

greetings,

Kalle Hauser

Hi Paul,

Could you enter an issue into our Bugzilla for this?

http://issues.apache.org/ooo/

It would help to include details like:

1) What version of OpenOffice you are using

2) What platform you are running on

3) What font you are using

4) Attach screen shot showing what you are seeing

5) Attach a sample document if you think it will help

Thanks!
