The cost to do it manually is the same as the cost to do it automatically.
The cost on you is just the cost on us.

If you have enough hard disk storage, keeping OpenOffice is easier.
You can pay somebody else, if he is responsible.
It is possible that you need better antivirus or anti-malware tools.

I bet you downloaded from somewhere other than www.openoffice.org. The
package from that site does not contain anything else, such as that
Speeddial. Can't say the same for other sites where you can download it.

Black background is unusual for a Writer file.
Maybe Impress can do better.

please check 'tools - options - openoffice writer - print'. 'page
background' should be checked and 'print text in black' unchecked. these
options apply to exporting as pdf as well as to printing on paper.

you may record a macro for that: start recording, then save your file with the
required settings and stop recording. after that you may assign a keyboard
shortcut or a button on a toolbar to it.

however, when i tried it, everything worked perfectly except the fact that
there was no dialogue to enter a name to save the file with. it is certainly
possible to create the dialogue, but unfortunately i do not have time to read
the openoffice basic manual in the nearest weeks. maybe someone else will help
you finish the task.

Your files have not been touched in any way. What has happened is that the File
Associations on your computer, which determine what program opens a particular
type of file, have been set so that .doc files open in WordPad. You need to
reset the File Associations to point to MS Office or MS Word; details are given
in this posting

Moving a frame - graphic

2014-06-04 Thread Colleen McCartin
Hi,
I created a frame with text because when I create a text piece (lines of
text) which is to be inserted at end of email - is my company name the
spacing because all skewed. So, I inserted the text in a frame (text box)
thinking it would lock the format and I could just copy and paste it to the
ends of emails as needed. However, when attempting this it did not work. I
am attaching the doc with the frame for your guidance with this.

Thanks so much.

All that changed is the file associations, that is which app is the
default for a file type. They will still work fine in Word. With the
normal install, OpenOffice becomes the default app for the various file
types is handles. The same thing would happen if you had installed
Word, after previously using OpenOffice. You can either change the file
assignment back to Word or right click on the file and select Word.

Inconsistent checkbox behavior

2014-06-04 Thread Hung Mark
Hi!

I'm using OpenOffice 4.0.1 under Windows 7 ( Traditional Chinese ).
While using form control to create a checkbox, I observe that when
checking the control,
it shows a tick in the checkbox in print preview, but showing a x
in actual printed result. (see the attached files. )

The behavior is the same in OpenOffice 4.1.0 ( tested with Bullzip PDF
printer ).

Is there anyway to make it consistent or configure whether to use a
tick or a 'x'?

Thanks.
