Open Office vs MS Office
Dear Sir/Madam, Kindly provide us your comments for the following at the earliest. (a) Formatting (color size, shapes, etc.) may change once MS word document is opened in Open Office. (b) Sometimes behaviour of open office is uncertain when using Smart Art & Word Art styles (of MS Power point, excel). (c) Animation of MS Powerpoint slides does not always work as desired in Open Office. (d) Although macros are supported in Open Office but the Macros created using MS Office cannot be executed in Open Office. (e) Some of the features that are easily available in MS Office could not be found in Open office such as;- (i) Spelling / Grammer check (ii) View files side by side with Synchronous scrolling (iii) Converting the impress document into PDF results in the printing of all hidden slides too. But in MS Office, the hidden slides are not printed even when it is converted into PDF. An early reply will highly be appreciated. Regards, J. Me three on getting these odd missives. Show up about every three weeks, and despite the text, no "bounced messages" are ever attached. Very odd. The spell checker seemed to keep setting the default language to English USA and every time I open a file I have to keep reseting it to English Canada. I can add new words to the dictionary but every time I open the file it highlights those words as spelling errors until I perform a spell check. Once that is done, only then does the program seem to recognize these words. Also several times the spell checker seems to freeze and says the program is not responding. Now it's suddenly telling me all my words are spelled incorrectly and when I do a spell check it seems I have to add each word back into the dictionary. I've looked at the forums but all the posts either have the same questions over and over again with no answer, or answers which make no sense to me, I admit I'm not very tech savy and all these "open file X and rename this and that" just confuse me. Is there anyone who can help? I appreciate any help you can offer. RE: A broken link on your website
If we'd all make a habit of using mixed case (upper/lowercase) for usernames and web addresses, there's be much less confusion and errors. For example, "L10N" is much easier to understand that "l10n". All Internet Service Providers handle mixed case just fine.
