Re: "Recovery failed" warning on each relaunch of iMac and Openoffice

2019-11-20 Thread David Belina
Do you come Open Office before you shutdown the Mac.

If you don’t (even if you “lock “ the file, OpenOffice tries to recover because
it thinks the Open office file is still open.

Try /Insert /Field Page number.

I have just checked Help file for AOO 4.1.7: the edit reference is for
Formatting of the page number style and for that you need an existing (already
inserted) Page Number. To edit that page number style, place the cursor
immediately in front of that field - it is helpful to turn on /View /Field
Shadings, and sometime /View /Field names.

File - is locked for editing by unknown user

2019-11-20 Thread Daniel Pritchett
I have used this file for around a year. Everyone I try and open this file it
says “document in use - is locked for editing by unknown user. Open document
read-only or open a copy of the document for editing.

I have no idea what to do, I ran CCleaner and I also used the task manger but
couldn’t see the file open to close.

I’ve renamed the file name by just putting a 1 at the end, which allows me to
use and edit the file. Really annoying though.

Anyone know how to resolve this issue?
