Re: Open office too many icons

2020-02-09 Thread Peter Kovacs
Hello Joseph P. Carlin,

My OpenOffice installation has 8 Icons Installed.

Base, Calc, Writer, Impress, Draw, Math, Printer setup and a generic one

The first 6 start directly the application you want to use. the 7th Icon
regulates Printer setup and the last one starts an application where I
can select what I want to do.

Please note that all applications are different with a different purpose.

I have no Idea what your 9th Icon is, maybe Uninstall?

Maybe you could add what do you expect, when Installing the OpenOffice
Productivity suite.

All the Best

Peter

Cannot open my OpenOffice version 4.1.1

I am not finding a simple answer for this problem on the forum. Please give me
simple troubleshooting guidelines or provide me with a telephone number for
technical assistance.

Try pressing Ctrl Shift Esc to start Task Manager and kill any soffice.bin
process shown on TaskManager's tab. (the spelling is: soffice.bin)

Note that support on the list and on the Forum are provided by volunteers on a
pro bono basis and in their own time. There is no 24 hour support or

Thanks for the reply; I did get it to open again, by using ‘modify’ under
add/remove programs. I will keep your reply for future reference.
