hi rory manythanx4inputs i am a professional engineer but loath computers - i use as a typewriter as do most users - your instructions require far too much thought & messing around (not to say that i do not appreciate your inputs & efforts) the problem is that there is a POLICY flaw within mozilla/apache/openoffice organisation that is not adequately ensuring updates function correctly - this applies across office, firefox, thunderbird applications the issue is an organisational/policy problem manythanxagainchris Chris Addington Pr.Eng. spellcheck error again after installing new update Re: spellcheck
hi this morning (aug 10) i had a notice on openoffice text doc of a new update (for dictionaries i think) - clicked update - spellcheck not working (again shows correct setting on bottom of screen (English (UK)) options set to 'spellcheck' but no red underline to incorrectly spelt words regardschris Chris Addington Pr.Eng. On 21/07/2015 09:52, Rory O'Farrell wrote: On Tue, 21 Jul 2015 09:23:45 +0100 Chris Addington <cd...@iafrica.com> wrote: hi opened a .docx and found spellcheck had stopped functioning uninstalled & reinstalled openoffice - appears ok for now ? regardschris -- Chris Addington Pr.Eng. This spellcheck failure was most likely due to the incorrect language being specified in the downloaded document - for example one of the variants of English other than your OpenOffice had selected. If it happens again, note the language specified in the Status Bar (at screen bottom). If this does not match your installed language, use /Tools /Language /For all text to change the document language variant to that you normally use. This will most probably sort out the problem without need to reinstall OpenOffice. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: users-unsubscr...@openoffice.apache.org For additional commands, e-mail: users-h...@openoffice.apache.org
